I purchased one of these little numbers to replace a Panasonic TZ-6 which I considered very overrated, and is intended to compliment my DSLR. I was immediately impressed by the small size, and classy looks. I have owned Canon IXUS compacts before, so I found operating the camera very intuitive.

Works great, looks great

I don't know much about cameras so I was looking for a compact one that could take quality pictures.

Comes in cool colors

Picture quality is lacking

The 100 HS takes arguably the best photos of any sub-$200 camera on the market. It can capture decent shots even in challenging settings, and in ideal conditions-outdoors on a bright, sunny day-its images are bright and clear with true-to-life colors.

Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS

Canon's Elph line has long been known for packing good image quality into tiny packages, and the latest version, the 12.1-megapixel Canon PowerShot Elph 100 HS ($199.99 list) continues the trend.

Small, compact build; Dedicated low-light mode; Shoots 1080p video

Average image quality and speed; Can't adjust zoom or focus in video mode

Canon IXUS 115 HS review: Canon IXUS 115 HS

Should style matter equally to one's photography as substance, then perhaps one should closely investigate the Canon IXUS series of compact cameras. Thanks to the long line of lascivious models that have come before it, the IXUS 115 HS inherits a very good-looking body that belies its inexpensive asking price.

The IXUS 115 is a nifty compact that will fit in your pocket, but won't dent it with a heavy price.

Compact, lightweight and stylish; Comes with 1080p HD video; Well priced.

Autofocus struggles in low light; Some images can be soft; Slow performance.

Canon Ixus 115 HS

It's not easy to make a mid-range camera stand out from the competition, and yet the market for £150 to £200 cameras is key to many manufacturers' success.

High-quality build and materials used; Good picture quality up to 800 ISO; Good picture quality at telephoto settings; 1080p HD video mode with sharp picture quality; Easy to use

Lens could be sharper at wide-angle settings; No stereo sound or optical zoom in video mode; Could be more responsive; Low-def screen; Flat buttons set flush into the casing aren't always practical

Canon IXUS 115 HS

Looking for a reasonably priced pocket camera for a gift or a weekend away? Then the Canon IXUS 115 HS should be right up your street. Little brother to the Canon IXUS 220 HS we reviewed the other week and £20 cheaper, it shares the same 12.1 megapixel resolution 1/2.3-inch sensor and knocks the...

Styish design; Tiny dimensions; Good image quality; Surprising number of features

Small size can make it cramped to use; Few manual controls; Somewhat pricey

Canon IXUS 115 HS review

Canon IXUS 115 HS: Overview Canon's IXUS 115 HS is one of the company's latest models to incorporate its High Sensitivity technology, which debuted in last year's IXUS 300 HS. Rather than simply increasing the available sensitivity range - which often just results in nosier images - the technology...

Canon IXUS 115 HS

The IXUS 115 is a nifty compact that will fit in your pocket, but won't dent it with a heavy price. Point-and-shoot users will enjoy the images it takes, and the addition of decent, but not class-leading, HD video adds to the appeal. The 115 HS is available in pink, blue and silver.

Compact; lightweight and stylish; Comes with 1080p HD video; Well priced

Autofocus struggles in low light; Some images can be soft; Slow performance
