If you are most interested in stills and don't care that much about video quality, the 6D is a great value—it produces top-notch pictures, with very few compromises, at a lower price than we've ever seen.

Canon EOS 6D Digital Camera Review

Everything the D600 is for Nikon users, the EOS 6D is for Canon lovers: a relatively affordable full-frame option, aimed at photographers looking to get their start in high-end portraiture or event shooting.

Generally impressive image quality; An affordable full-frame

Disappointing sharpness scores with the kit lens; Dated autofocus

Canon's most affordable full-frame is one of the high-end's best deals.

Canon's brand new EOS 6D is the company's most affordable full-frame camera, clocking in at $2,099.99 body-only, and entering into direct competition with the excellent Nikon D600. Worthy Upgrade for a Rebel User

24-105mm f/4 Kit Lens: Honestly this was probably what was holding me back the most about going full frame. I previously have been using the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS and I have to say that better than 90% of my pictures taken with my T2i were shot using this lens.

High ISO / Low Light Performance; Center AF Point; Fast; WiFi & GPS

HDR Mode feels limited; Unique button layout takes some adjusting

excellent ImageQuality, superb low-light ability

This is my first full-frame camera, a very nice jump up from my previous camera -a Rebel XT. There is no comparison to that camera, of course. But the 6D compares favourably with the rest of the Canon prosumer line.

Canon EOS 6D

While DSLRs fitted with APS-C sensors have always been popular with enthusiasts and consumers looking for a camera that offers a good balance between image quality and value for money, full-frame DSLRs have long been the number one choice for full-time professional photographers on account of their...

Excellent image quality; Impressive low-light performance; Intuitive Wi-Fi connectivity and GPS support; Solid and robust build quality; Accurate metering system

Only one cross-type AF sensor; No built-in pop-up flash; GPS and Wi-Fi drain battery life; No manual audio control for HD video

Canon EOS 6D review

The pitch for the EOS 6D is that it's a cheaper way for keen amateurs to enjoy a digital SLR that offers a sensor the same size as professional models costing £5K. Whilst not inexpensive at £1799.99 body-only, the Canon 6D is comparable price-wise and feature-wise with the simultaneously announced...

Canon's cheapest full frame sensor DSLR for those amateurs after optimum results from the 35mm format; solid feel build yet manageable handling; on-board wireless transfer of images and the ability to control the camera remotely via iPad; built-in GPS image tagging

Size and bulk will still mark you out as a professional so not the best option for candid street photography; expensive if you won't feel the benefit of that full frame sensor

Canon EOS 6D

The Canon EOS 6D is the smallest, lightest and cheapest of the firm's full-frame (24 x 36 mm) SLRs. All of those qualities are likely to appeal to photographers who haven't yet taken the plunge and invested...

Picture quality up to 6400 ISO; Can be controlled remotely via Wi-Fi; Silent shutter mode is a nice touch; Good-quality LCD; Autofocus performs well in low light; Excellent video quality; Good general design and handling

No built-in flash; No headphones socket (for video); flash sync socket or USB 3 connection; No overlay tools in EVF (grids; etc.; No touchscreen or swivel screen; Autofocus is too slow in Live View and video / AF zone is a little tight; EF-S lenses not compatible
