Canon EOS 60D DSLR Review

Despite its name, the 60D is most definitely the Rebel T2i's big brother, and not the successor to the 50D. The Canon EOS 60D has been released to bridge the gap between its Rebel T2i and 7D. It's a bold step by Canon, but has it paid off?

18 megapixels; Good results at higher ISO settings; Full HD movie mode; Flip-out LCD screen

Some fiddly controls; Plastic body; Currently overpriced

Canon EOS 60D Review

At first blush, you'd think the EOS 60D would be more capable than the older EOS 50D. That's only partially true. It's got more pixels and a more sophisticated metering engine, but it lacks the metal body and has a lower maximum continuous shooting speed.

Excellent balance; great choice of lenses; superb video capabilities

Only nine focus points; obtuse UI

Canon EOS 60D

The $1,099 (direct, body only) 18-megapixel Canon EOS 60D is an update to the Canon EOS 50D, and is Canon's first D-SLR digital camera to feature an LCD mounted to an articulating arm, for viewing from nearly any angle.

Sharp, beautiful images; Fast shooting; Excellent for low-light performance without a flash; Lots of video recording options; Manual operation during video recording; Articulating LCD

No continuous autofocus while recording video; Lens makes audible noise when re-focusing during video recording

Review: Canon EOS 60D DSLR camera

(1 items) Canon tends to be conservative with its DSLR upgrades, but it has made a big departure from the norm with the release of the EOS 60D. The 60D ($1100, body only) is a new class of Canon DSLR that's quite different from Canon's EOS 50D and other existing models.

Vari Angle LCD; Wireless flash control built in; Superb video; external mic jack; and audio control; In-camera raw processing and image resizing; Extensive software bundle included; Good battery performance; Excellent image quality; even at high ISO settings

Poor Auto White balance under tungsten lighting; Slow focusing in Live View; Clumsy access to Movie mode

EOS 60D

The Canon EOS 60D is great for anyone looking for a mid-range camera. It isn't as powerful as the high-end EOS 7D but the 60D shoots great pictures even at ISO levels as high as 1,600. Autofocus in generally fast although it is a tad slower in Live View mode.

: Good picture quality; decent ISO performance; HD video recording; articulated LCD screen

: Lacks dedicated video recording button; slow autofocus speed in Live View mode; slow burst shooting mode

Canon EOS 60D Body. WOW!! light in weight

Image quality is medium. During clicking not confortable. But light in weigth to fast click and can be clicked photos suddenly. Better with good price. Good quality material used and cannot break even felt from height as standing on chair. Best piece ever.

Poor image quality; sensing is late; not confortablity while clicking

Calibration is required

Canon EOS 60D

Replacing the popular Canon EOS 50D , Canon's latest 60D has a whole lot to live up to. Reviving the vari-angle screen for DSLRs of this level seems to be a significant focus point, not least that none of the competition at this price-point offer such a feature.

Image quality; vari-angle LCD

Limited updates over 50D; not a tough build

Canon EOS 60D DSLR Review

Canon's latest DSLR aimed at advanced enthusiasts boasts a high resolution 18Mp CMOS sensor, Full HD video recording and an articulated swivel screen for live view shooting from any angle.

Swivel screen for live view shooting; Decent ISO performance; Simplified controls; Excellent handing; Superb video quality; Battery life; Wireless flash facility

Auto ISO could offer more parameters; Shutter lag during live view shooting

Canon EOS 60D with 18-135mm lens review

It's not easy following the trajectories of Canon and Nikon's SLR product lines. As Nikon replaces its superb but aging D90 with the considerably more upmarket Nikon D7000 , the Canon 60D is in many ways a downgrade to the 50D it replaces.

Canon EOS 60D Review

We've come to expect follow-on cameras to generally out-do the camera they're replacing features-wise, and the 60D follows suit in most cases compared to the 50D. Sensor resolution is up and an HD video capability exists where none did before.

Swiveling monitor; Excellent image quality; Great high ISO performance

Slow AF in video mode; Awkward mode dial; No continuous video AF
