Bottom Line? If you're looking for some basic speakers and aren't too concerned with your listening environment or extreme accuracy - these Bose are great. They work perfectly as a reference monitor to check your mixes before you finalize them.

I was skeptical about paying $100 for computer speakers; I've always used cheap $20 ones and never worried about fantastic sound quality. (You can't yearn for something you've never experienced lol) When I decided to upgrade my computer system a buddy suggested these speakers and said, "Well if...
Since I don't demand sound studio quality from computer speakers, I'm happy with the Bose Companion 2 system.
Good sound quality; small size
Short input cable
These speakers deliver an excellent sound from a computer (and from an Ipod). I did not want a subwoofer sitting around and I had a set of Creative speakers that failed for no apparent reason. These Bose speakers deliver a full, rich sound from my mainboards onboard sound card.
The sound is wonderful. The quality is excellent. The negatives does not run off of usb so that means an extra 110 cord exc. Bose speakers always run a little heavy to bass. After I found the equalizer in the computer controls these speakers are outstanding.
Exceptional sound and depth that will amaze even the most discriminating music lover. I am satisfied with the product that I have recommended it to others. Design is a "classic modern" - seductive and sleek in form that it blends with any enviroment, especially next to my 32" HDTV flat panel TV/PC...
Pure Sound Karma
None
Cons: only a 110 volt power supply and quite demanding amp draw >1.5 amps @12 volts when i had to replace my power supply ( some idiot plugged mine in to 220 when i was on a deployment) Pros: very durable Possibly self limited internally by bose.
I was seeking some speakers with quality, fairly low price, something not bulky, the Companion 2 fit that mode very well for me. Great purchase, simple to install for us basic beginners in PC speakers. It is my first Bose product and not disappointed. I would recommend
Easy to set up Good quality sound for size and price
Not sure If I personally see any huge weaknesses, I'm a basic PC speaker beginner and by no means an expert in PC speakers; I've personally enjoyed these speakers the last three days
Everyone who sees them expects them to sound like toys, but these are serious BOSE speakers, attractively priced. I use 'em with a laptop. Yes, adding a subwoofer would make these babies acoustically perfect, buy they do have a good low end that's satisfying out of the box. Highly recommended.
Compact Design; Great Sound Quality
The Bose Companion 2 (series II) computer speakers sound great, look great and are worth the money. I bought these for my wife's computer, because she listens to music all of the time. We can't believe that much sound comes out of those 2 little speakers.
