Borderlands 2: How Marcus Saved Mercenary Day Review

Mercenary Day is easily the most successful of Borderlands 2's Headhunter Packs, thanks to how well it captures the wit and creativity of the series. Its off-kilter take on holiday cheer kept me smiling for a half hour, but the content it offers is still too sparse and too similar to what's come...

Holiday humor; Sense of place; Fun; familiar gameplay

Performance issues; Lack of challenge

Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep

Just when it was starting to seem like there's only so much you can do to keep Borderlands 2 's brand of shoot-and-loot compelling, Gearbox rolled a 20. Indeed, it's hard to label Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep anything but a labor of love.

, + Five to seven hours of content; widely varied new settings; puzzles; many fantasy references

- Few fantasy-themed weapons or skins; experience sags somewhat when Tina's silent, ?

Borderlands 2 Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt Review

The latest DLC for Borderlands 2 takes the vault hunters to the swampy, dirty, uncivilized continent of Aegrus, where the sophisticated and gentlemanly Sir Hammerlock has invited the player characters on a hunting expedition.

● High level; durable enemies - be ready for a challenge ● Not one; but two raid bosses ● A new Seraph Vendor and accompanying goodies

● Short in duration ● A bit lacking in features ● Frustrating maps

Exhaustive array of guns and loot; Funny dialogues; Engaging locations; Very good multiplayer mode

Campaign is too short

More Than Just Hardcore XXX Gun Pr0n.

Hark at this, look: I'm a Borderlands addict. Maybe not as much as you are, you gaming freak, but it's still my favourite FPS. A bold statement, I know, but I'll take the original Borderlands over Half Life or Stalker any day of the week.

Excellent sequel; Massively pretty; Guns are fun

Odd jumping mechanics

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 deserves at least a nomination for Game of the Year 2012. First, let's get one thing out of the way. It's a lot-an awful lot-like the first game. The overall gameplay, character synergy, loot system, controls, and humor are nigh identical. Nighdentical.

87 billion guns mean the way you play the game is constantly changing; An improved story and even more over-the-top characters and jokes; Tailored to a rich; rewarding multiplayer experience that's entirely unique

So much like the first game; you might end up calling it "Borderlands 1-and-a-half.

Borderlands 2

The only downside here is that at some point the game may still feel like you're going through yet another generic loot fest, ultimately offering very little substance to those gamers who expect a richer story and a connection with the in-game characters.

This is a decent sequel that expands on a lot of the original's virtues; more to enjoy here than before; cool atmosphere and a great mix of FPS action and RPG gameplay; great music and sound

Not as exciting in single-player as it could've been; a lot of the game (the story) still feels generic

Borderlands 2 nearly perfects the blend of shooter and role-playing game (review)

Borderlands 2 is everything fans of the original could have hoped for. No, it doesn't mess with a formula that already proved itself. Instead it supports the framework for a great role-playing game with a bigger world, while offering more customization options for its players.

Borderlands 2 is a huge game; Completing the story while doing only a fraction of the side quests takes about 30 hours; Now, add to that all of those extra missions, and you have an even longer experience.

While plenty of Borderlands 2′s side quests send you to interesting and new locations, too many require you to transverse large dungeons that you've already cleared; These levels are fun the first time, but it's annoying and tedious to play through them again, with little (sometimes very little)...

Borderlands 2: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty Review

Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty delivers mild-mannered humor and a satisfying adventure for you to shoot and loot your way through.

New enemies liven things up Lovely new areas to visit Some amusing characters and quests

Humor runs dry toward the end Some technical hiccups
