Audio Technica W5000

I've been using these headphones for 9 years, powered by an AMB m3. I've owned a lot of headphones over the years but these put an end to my GAS, my only moment of weakness was buying some Beyerdynamic T5's but they were quickly returned.

- Closed headphones with a light airy sound; comfort

- Not very bassy; expensive

What you sayin, Bruv

The sound is so clear and so divine that I no longer appreciate real life's sound quality. I often find myself asking my associates, 'What you sayin, Bruv', during our long business meetings. They feel so good that I find myself wearing them in the bath. And in bed. The wife was not happy...

This headphone was fantasticallly clear to my ears

These headphones were fantastic and clear. They did well with my desktop amp and lasted a long time. i use these with a portable amp on the ride to school and crank them up. I didn't expect them to do well with metal music as well as they did.

Creme De La Creme

The W5000's are the best headphones I've owned or listened to, and I've been around the block when it comes to headphones. I could honestly writes pages about these but I'll attempt to keep it brief. These headphones have a very specific purpose in the broad range of things.

Best headphones for classical music

In a few words: if you like classical music (or any music where a big, boomy bass is not too important and where detail and clarity are essential), do yourself a favor and buy these.

Accuracy; Comfortable; Detail retrieval; Great Sound; Stylish

A little leaky

If you're looking for cheap headphones to use on the go, this review won't help you. Audio Technica's AU$1,449 ATH-W5000s are extremely high-end, closed-back, reference-grade headphones for the truly discerning audiophile.

Accurate sound quality; Super-detailed high-end; Ideal as reference headphones for mixing; Excellent cabling

Bass isn't too powerful; No 6.5mm-3.5mm adaptor in the box

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 Review

The ATH-W5000 headphones are endowed with exceptional sound characteristics and stylish, cutting-edge design which earns them recognition as some of the best-sounding headphones available today.

Clear sound with low distortion; Sturdy build quality; Attractive striped-ebony hardwood earcups; Rugged; red velour-lined storage case

Difficult to fit on your head; Bass response is weak by some standards; No accessories
