It's the first step towards the Alien game you've always wanted. But it's a tiny, uncertain step. Given the poor showing of the last few major games set in the Alien universe, however, it's a welcome one.

Alien cat-and-mouse encounters can be tense and frightening; Nails the right retro-futuristic atmosphere; Great use of sound and motion-tracking

Loaded with uninspired filler, Trial and error + distant save points = frustration, Some mechanics are inconsistent; others are illogical

Alien: Isolation PS4 Review

If an enemy is dangerous enough, it can be even more intimidating than 10 of one enemy. We saw it with Resident Evil 3, in which the tall, monstrous, powerful and intimidating Nemesis creature was an enemy to be feared every time he showed his ugly face.

Alien: Isolation Review – Xbox One (Also on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox 360)

When everyone thinks of making a videogame based upon the Alien franchise, most dream of one based upon the Colonial Marines from Aliens. A lot of classic videogames take more than a slight inspiration from that second movie. Unfortunately, the recent game based upon that concept proved disastrous.

Alien Isolation – Review (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Proving to us that a first person shooter doesn't need to be all shooty, is the latest in a string of hit and miss games set in the Alien franchise. Set between Alien and Aliens, Isolation is a fairly solid cat and mouse game.

Alien Isolation: Nostromo Edition

"Let me see if I have this correct, Lieutenant - it's an 8-foot creature of some kind with acid for blood, and it arrived on your spaceship. It kills on sight, and is generally unpleasant." -Superintendent Andrews, Alien 3 Alien is one of my favorite films of all time.

Alien: Isolation

I remained cautiously optimistic as I removed the shrinkwrap from my review copy of Alien: Isolation. I had seen the first-person survival horror title in person at an event just a month or two before, and I came away impressed, but the sour taste of Aliens: Colonial Marines still lingered long...

Alien: Isolation

HR Giger's alien has often been dealt a disservice by videogames. Described as the "perfect organism" in Ridley Scott's original movie, the videogame xenomorph has been anything but.

You'll never guess who drags down the gameplay in Alien: Isolation

It's a bad sign that the weakest parts of Alien: Isolation are the parts with the alien. You'd think getting that right would be a priority. Instead, the best parts of the game involve running around space corridors and turning space handles and flipping space switches and pressing space buttons and...

Alien: Isolation (PS4) - Review

Alien or Aliens : which is the better film? It's one of cinema's oldest debates, with Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 classic perfecting the art of horror and science-fiction fuelled suspense, while James Cameron's 1986 action-packed sequel set the template for over two decades of video game culture to...

Alien Isolation

Alien: Isolation will make you scream in both frustration and euphoria but succeeds where many games of this franchise have failed
