Acer Predator X27 27" 4K Max-144Hz Nvidia G-Sync HDR Gaming Monitor

The best monitor I have ever seen and used. It has revolutionary color accuracy and refresh rate. Gaming on this takes immersion to a whole new level.

Very good if you can afford it and think it is worth it (and has a terribly good computer). Tested XB273K before, which is an almost identical screen, except that the XB273K has the HDR400, while it has HDR1000 and 384 backlight zones.

It's £1799; Fan noise could be a distraction; Some settings unavailable in HDR mode; Fiddly menu system; Input lag a little high; Windows still not...

Acer Predator X27 review: 4K, 144Hz G-Sync HDR is the Holy Grail of gaming monitors, with quirks

The Acer Predator X27 is one of the first G-Sync HDR displays and checks every box you could ask for.

Vivid DisplayHDR 1000 certified display with 384 backlight zones; First monitor to hit 144Hz at 4K resolution; Impeccable color accuracy; Factory...

Extremely expensive; Active cooling fan creates noise; Output occasionally turns a murky gray after waking

A couple of weeks ago you might have spotted our review of the Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ , the first 4K 144 Hz moni

Outstanding performance, including excellent HDR, elite factory SDR calibration, decent overall latency, and a high refresh rate at a very high resolution; Better performance than the Asus PG27UQ

Very expensive; Early adopter issues like active fan and chroma subsampling

There are a multitude of issues with this monitor. 1. hazy bloom around icons and the mouse cursor 2. the fan is cheaper than anything I have ever seen, and it is directly behind the mounting plate. 3. the menu system is horrible.

Acer Predator X27

A 144Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution and proper HDR thanks to a clever 384-zone backlight, mark the Acer Predator X27 out as one of the most feature-rich and capable gaming monitors you can buy.

Fantastic image quality; Great gaming performance; Stunning HDR

Very expensive; Still only a 27-inch display; 4K resolution too demanding

Acer Predator X27

The Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ is very similar in its specs to the Predator X27, it being a 27-inch monitor with 4K UHD, Nvidia G-Sync, a 144Hz maximum refresh rate, and a 1,000-nit rated peak brightness. We look forward to reviewing it soon.

4K UHD resolution; Supports HDR content; Very high rated and tested brightness; Excellent contrast ratio for an IPS monitor; Glare-reducing hood; Stylish, ergonomic mount provides height, tilt, and swivel control

Stratospheric pricing; Requires high-performance hardware to get the most out of it

Acer Predator X27: A glorious HDR gaming monitor

The Acer Predator X27 provides fantastic image quality and a great 144Hz gaming experience, not to mention a stylish design, a nice stand and a few useful extras like a USB hub. Of course it's far from cheap, but at the time of writing it retails for around £100 less than the Asus PG27UQ - and it's...

Sumptuous HDR colour; Fantastic contrast; Decent gaming performance

Incredibly expensive; 4K feels cramped on a 27in monitor; Fan noise

Acer Predator X27 Review

Put together a wish list—the sky's the limit—of things you'd want in a 27-inch gaming monitor, and you'd probably come up with something like the Acer Predator X27 ($1,999.99). 4K UHD resolution, support for Nvidia's G-Sync adaptive-sync tech, and HDR support—check. High luminance and an expanded color gamut—check. Add wicked-fast refresh rates, a plethora of input ports, an ergonomically friendly stand, and gaming-friendly features such as multiple crosshair types, and you have an absolute dream-screen gaming display (with a price to match). I first saw the X27 in action last summer at a demo hosted by Nvidia, which developed the monitor's G-Sync adaptive-sync technology. I viewed a demo of Final Fantasy XVand was awestruck by this monitor's ability to capture subtle variations in shading and bring out detail in dark areas, as well as to capture brilliance in bright areas without them looking washed out. This panel's brilliance and dynamic range set it apart as something special,...

Acer's formidable (and formidably pricey) Predator X27 is an elite-performing 27-inch gaming monitor that provides 4K UHD resolution, very high brightness, lofty refresh rates, and G-Sync support. It's the ultimate gaming panel.
