Don't be fooled: iPhone XS is not a boring ‘S' upgrade [Review]

For me, the iPhone is the single most important device in my life. With its increased speed and smarts, the iPhone XS makes all the little everyday tasks that much faster and easier. I'm addicted to speed. And if Apple can make each year's new iPhones this much better, I'll be hooked for life.

Apple iPhone Xs Review - Is It Truly Worth 70k - Filipino Tech Addict

So, should you get the Apple iPhone Xs That depends on your needs. If you are so hooked with Apple's ecosystem especially if you are seeking to upgrade your aging iPhone, than this is the one to get. If it is too pricey for you, maybe you could take a look at the Apple iPhone XR.

Apple iPhone XS 256GB Gold MT9K2X/A review

While we'd still recommend the iPhone XR first, the XS has some extras worth noting.

The iPhone XS has a markedly improved dual camera, delivering better photos than the iPhone X in both dark and high-contrast environments; It has a faster processor, faster face ID, adds dual-SIM support and it’s now available in gold and 512GB versions.

Its battery life is the shortest of the three new iPhones and only incrementally better than last year's; Despite its still-rich price tag, increased storage, USB-C fast chargers and headphone dongles will have you spending even more.

Apple iPhone XS 256GB Gold MT9K2X/A review

From a photo-quality perspective, the iPhone XS is an excellent daylight camera that captures great pictures when the lighting conditions are favorable. This is without a doubt thanks to Apple’s camera software engineers who have done an excellent camera tuning job.

Apple iPhone XS 256GB Gold MT9K2X/A review

To be clear, the iPhone XS is every bit as good as the iPhone XS Max, save for battery life. It delivers on Apple's (now yearly) promise of being the best iPhone ever.

Smooth performance; Amazing camera

Mediocre battery life

Apple iPhone XS 256GB Gold MT9K2X/A review

L’iPhone Xs se démarque de son prédécesseur par son processeur A12 Bionic et l’amélioration de son autonomie. Ayant une performance digne d’un Smartphone haut de gamme, celui-ci avance une puce gravée en 7 nm plus puissante.

Toujours performant; Nouveau design

Durée de vie de la batterie faible

Apple iPhone XS (256GB, Silver) - AU - Pristine review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

Apple iPhone XS (256GB, Silver) - AU - Pristine review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Apple iPhone XS (256GB, Silver) - AU - Pristine review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue
