Used as demo Apple iPhone 8 256GB Gold (6 month warranty + 100% Genuine) review

The iPhone 8 might be the last of its kind, the last Apple smartphone with a home button and IPS display. If this is the case, the Americans at least gave us a very good final chapter. We once again miss major new features or innovations, but the iPhone 8 still beats its predecessor in many regards.

high build quality, True-Tone display, fast SoC, great camera, accurate GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, high Wi-Fi performance, many LTE bands, water and dust protection

storage cannot be expanded, only 12 months warranty, no stereo jack, only average speakers, display resolution could be higher, heavier than the predecessor, very limited NFC functionality

You think you know what you’re getting, but the iPhone 8 offers quite a bit more. There’s no getting round its highish price and dated design though

Blazingly fast, Camera borders on excellent, Great build that feels solid, Speakers are surprisingly good

Pricey, Design is effectively four years old, Camera bump still irks, No headphone port

In a lot respects, the iPhone 8 should feel like a slam dunk: it takes the already winning formula of the iPhone 7 , delivers a handful of solid upgrades, and even implements some all-new features. And if we're looking at the phone on its own, it's hard to argue that it's not pretty successful.

Unbeatable performance, Great-sounding speakers, Effortlessly beautiful camera, Wireless + fast charging support, Very welcome base-level storage boost

Extra glass causes durability concerns, Fewer color options, Presence of more and more higher-end iPhone models makes this one feel like a compromise

Apple iPhone 8 Review

Apple doesn't slide backward, but sometimes it moves forward slowly. The new iPhone 8 ($699 for 64GB; $849 for 256GB) rests a little bit on Apple's laurels. While it's an excellent phone, it doesn't bring any radical new consumer features for owners of the iPhone 7 or even 6s models. Its powerful new A11 processor sets the stage for Apple's augmented reality future, but if you're interested in that, the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are better bets. Before we begin, I'd like to note the score above: 3.5 stars, the lowest we've rated an iPhone in a while. The iPhone 8 has some class-leading features, most notably that A11 processor and a camera that matches other $700 flagships. But on price-performance balance, it's the least appealing member of the iPhone family right now, and for that, we docked it half a star. A Familiar Design The iPhone 8 looks a lot like the iPhone 7, except that the metal back has been switched out for shimmering glass. At 5.45 by 2.65 by 0.29 inches (HWD) a...

The iPhone 8 anchors Apple's 2017 phone line, but it isn't where the future is.

Wireless charging; Powerful new processor

Lacks the latest modem features and bands; Single camera is a disadvantage for AR; Not a huge upgrade over last year's model, which is still available

The iPhone 8 is the best iPhone released to date because it has much better battery life, an improved camera and wireless charging – but it’s inherently boring. It has glass on the back, sure, but even without sticking it in a case it’s difficult to tell for the casual observer.

Pros: 24-hour-plus battery, great camera, wireless charging, fingerprint scanner, water resistant

Cons: 2014 design, boring, large bezels around the screen, no headphone jack, no fast-charger in the box, expensive

It's interesting how Apple will proceed from now on. Will it go back to the familiar pair of a regular and plus model, or will the iPhone X spawn a whole new line of iPhones? The Apple reboot?

The iPhone 8 has a new glass design offering wireless charging. It's faster than ever, thanks to the new A11 Bionic chip, and now comes with 64GB of memory as standard. iOS 11 also brings some cool new features including augmented reality.

You'll need to make your own mind up about this one, since it's a refined smartphone but a lacklustre upgrade. Had Apple included a fast charger and maybe some form of wireless charging pad, it would have matched the 8/10 awarded to last year’s iPhone 7 Plus.
