so j got this phone in the mail yesterday, plugged it in last night and woke up to a battery light..; hadn't charged at all with the provided charger; plugged it into other outlets with different cords, same results; I've even tried a computer and a car stereo and nothing recognizes it...

I have bought the phone for a gift so cannot comment on that. My shopping experience with Tesco Direct was positive. After placing the order I was advised that the item was temporarily out of stock, Tesco kept me informed at all times and then sent it as soon as it was available.
If you consider that the definition of refurbished means that the item is tested and that parts are replace to make it as good as new, this definitely doesn't describe this phone.
