The iPhone 12 Pro checks all the boxes for a great smartphone, but is that enough to make it stand out?
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini are the best base-model iPhones ever built. They offer an all-new flat-edged design, they finally get an OLED display, plus they offer the 5G support that will ensure future-proofing.
Beautiful boxy design; Intelligent camera improvements ; 5G connectivity ; MagSafe innovation potential ; Faithful colour reproduction ;
Display refresh rate only 60Hz ; Mixed battery life ; No USB-C; No earphones or charging plug ;
Enticing. The iPhone 12 Pro received a design refresh reminiscent of the old iPhone 5s. It features the latest technology the Californians have to offer, including 5G and Apple's new magnetic MagSafe feature. Find out whether or not it is worth switching in our review.
blazingly fast SoC, bright OLED display with HDR10 and DolbyVision, long battery life, good triple-camera system, premium build quality and IP68, accurate location services, broad frequency support
mediocre speaker, Bluetooth without High Res Audio, fairly slow Wi-Fi 6, limited and restricted NFC, memory not expandable, no mmWave, slow wired data transfer speeds
The iPhone 12 Pro is an upgrade over the iPhone 11 Pro, but it’s a relatively minor one. The camera is a little better, and the design is pretty different. But if you have an iPhone 11 Pro you won’t notice much of a difference.
The iPhone 12 Pro is a great device but there’s nothing really that makes it exclaim that it’s a “Pro” device. Sure it has a telephoto lens, stainless steel frame, more storage options but you’re getting the same battery life as the cheaper iPhone 12 .
The new design is a nice and welcome change, Great camera and can shoot Dolby Vision video (up to 60 fps), Good battery life with long standby time, A14 Bionic offers quick performance, Wireless charging and fast charge support, The OLED screen looks great
iOS 14 could still use a bit more work, Heavier in the hand than the iPhone 12, More expensive and not much extra value over the iPhone 12, The MagSafe ecosystem is cool and has potential but not great now
The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.
Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.
Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.
While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present
Hannah Stryker / Review Geek The iPhone 14 is the latest iteration of Apple’s flagship device. Since its launch, the iPhone has set the standard of what a smartphone is, what it does, and how it looks. Fifteen years later, it’s still doing that.
Top-notch cameras, Amazing display, Snappy performance, Great battery life
It's just "this year's iPhone"
