Apr 15 2016 - Apple made a fairly big mistake by not upgrading the iPad Air 2 last year but the new iPad Pro 9.7-inch is very much the successor to their premium tablet. It is far more affordable and portable than the full 12.9-inch model while even getting some better features such as the camera.

A Worthy Upgrade

I upgraded from an iPad Air. My goal was to be able to use this as an tablet for browsing, email and games, but also a work device. For a good chunk of activity it's not noticeably different than the air. It does excel in a couple of areas: 1. Speed, it's faster and snappier. 2. Display.

Apple iPad Pro 9.7 in-depth review - The tablet perfected

My rose gold review sample is absolutely stunning. I bet you didn't expect me to start the review with that statement, but it is. I am not usually a big fan of pink gadgets, but there is something so striking about this 9.7-inch screen slate that I have found it quite distracting (in a good way!

Beautiful build; Great battery life; True Tone display; Fantastic camera

Expensive

9.7-inch iPad Pro

The first thing to note about the 9.7-inch iPad is that it isn't a replacement for your laptop – no matter how much Apple wants you to believe it is. However, there's no doubt this is the finest tablet Apple has ever made.

True Tone display is stunning; Perfect size; Apple Pencil is great; Stong tablet ecosystem; Power to get things done

Expensive; 32GB option isn't enough space; iOS could be better

Apple iPad Pro (9.7in)

released last autumn was a powerful, impressive machine that did a number of things no Apple tablet previously had done.

Impressive sound from internal speakers; Colourful and detailed picture; Beautiful design; Good camera

Sound through the headphone jack lacks sparkle

Deep-dive review: For the iPad Pro, smaller is big

With this latest update, Apple again shows that each generation of iPad is edging closer to the capabilities that not long ago were limited to traditional desktops and laptops. The iPad actually surpasses a PC in some ways with features like the True Tone display; support for the Apple Pencil as a...

Updated processor; improved speaker design; incredible display; great cameras; variety of useful accessories

Optional keyboard can feel a bit cramped

Apple iPad Pro 9.7 review

Apple thinks it's created the 'ultimate PC replacement' and while we're not convinced, the new iPad Pro 9.7 is still one of the best tablets you can buy.

Apple 9.7-inch iPad Pro review

The iPad Pro was something of a revelation when Apple released it last year, successfully proving that tablets could be used for creating, rather than just consuming. With its excellent Pencil, the iPad Pro was more than just a laptop replacement, too, taking over as a way for artists to draw and...

iPad Pro 9.7 Review: Is It Worth The Upgrade From Your Current iPad?

Apple's newest iPad Pro 9.7 is one of the most powerful iPads out there to date. While still keeping a thin profile, it's lightweight and can be carried with you everywhere you go.

The display is great along with performance; sound quality; and battery life

The cost of the iPad is steep, but not everyone has funds to buy this device; The camera was ok when it came to indoor photos

The Smaller (9.7-Inch) iPad Pro Review: Yes, You Want One

Tablets haven't had a great time lately. In the last two years, sales have plummeted and production has slowed to a crawl. While a lot of that is due to the fact they don't have the manic upgrade calendar of traditional computers or smartphones, it's also because they're really all about consuming...
