Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi 256GB -Space Grey (4th Generation) MXAT2X/A review

If you don't already own a tablet, then the iPad Pro 2020 is the one to get. And now that it can act as a proper laptop replacement (with some updates to iPadOS), that sky-high price (plus pricey accessories) is justified.

Stellar performance; Intuitive and useful trackpad support; Vivid and superbright display; Awesome cameras; Long battery life

Previous model is a better value; No headphone jack; Expensive (Accessories sold separately)

Apple iPad Pro 11 2020 Tablet Review – This is what an update should look like

Laptop, go home? The current iPad Pro 11 2020 is trying to strengthen its position as a laptop replacement with touchpad support and an even faster performance. Additionally, the cameras have been improved and the display now supports 120 Hz. In this review, we will take a closer look at Apple's exclusive workhorse.

Apple has made a few improvements to its 2020 iPad Pro 11 model and even reduced the prices of most ...

color-accurate 120-Hz display; wide variety of accessories; fast Wi-Fi; fast performance; good dual-camera system; high-quality sound; long battery life; cheaper than its predecessor...;

...but still too expensive; slow response times of the display; only 12 months' warranty; case is slightly too flexible;

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi 256GB -Space Grey (4th Generation) MXAT2X/A review

The 2020 iPad Pro is very much the 2018 model plus added cameras and lidar. It’s a feature that improves AR and may prove transformative down the line. But AR on a tablet remains niche. Instead the big changes are software as part of iPadOS 13.4, which is also available for older models.

good battery life; fast; beautiful screen; optional 4G; USB-C; great speakers; Face ID; mouse support; capable work PC replacement; lidar

very expensive; no kickstand without case; no headphone socket; will still need a PC for some tasks

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi 256GB -Space Grey (4th Generation) MXAT2X/A review

Great design; thin and portable; Fantastic performance; smooth animations; USB Type-C; 128 GB base storage

Accessories are pricey (Magic Keyboard not even out yet); Higher storage tiers can get expensive; File system is still a bit funky

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi 256GB -Space Grey (4th Generation) MXAT2X/A review

The 2020 iPad Pro is a terrific tablet that, thanks to features like trackpad support and some under-the-hood tweaks, comes closer than ever to feeling like a traditional computer.

Strong performance; LiDAR could be an AR game-changer; Mostly elegant trackpad support; Base model now has more storage

Ultra-wide camera not as good as main; Some apps need to be trackpad-optimized; Still no headphone jack; Hardware doesn't feel dramatically updated

Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi 256GB -Space Grey (4th Generation) MXAT2X/A review

The 2018 model was the revolution, for 2020 it’s nips and tucks, meaning business as usual.

Lovely screen and smooth performance; USB-C more practical for accessories; Trackpad support (and incoming Magic Keyboard) make for a true laptop replacement; LiDAR sensor adds future potential

LiDAR app support is few and far between; Doesn't feel much faster than 2018 model; Your Lightning accessories won't work (it's USB-C)

Apple iPad Pro 12.9 review: Back to the drawing board?

In terms of never needing to touch a computer again, we are almost there. Power users will disagree, but for the majority the iPad Pro will delivery just what they need.

Massive screen with high resolution looks great; Apple Pencil accessory works really well; Best iPad performance to date; Smart Connector wireless accessory connections;

Weights same as a laptop with optional keyboard added; Not as portable as other iPads; Keyboard accessory doesn't truly turn it into a laptop; IOS not OS X will divide "pro" opinion;
