Apple iPad Pro 10.5 Tablet Review

Apple has decided not to give the iPad Pro 10.5 a full makeover and instead made real improvements where it matters most. Particularly the new display is impressive - its great reflective properties and HDR capabilities will be particularly interesting for fans of movies, TV series and gaming.

very good display; fast Wi-Fi; additional Apple SIM (LTE-versions only; speedy SoC; decent speakers; good battery runtimes

no support for Galileo GNSS; pressure-sensitive case; one-year warranty only; display does not support P3 despite claims; slower memory than predecessor; long charging times

iPad Pro 10.5 Review (2017): Half the laptop-replacement story

It's easy to leap to categorizing new products like Apple's iPad Pro 10.5 as either revolutionary or evolutionary. Do they break new, uncharted ground, or are they last year's flagship, polished and refined for another attempt?

ProMotion 120Hz display is astonishingly good; Apple A10X Fusion processor is wicked-fast; Solid battery life; Ever-growing selection of pro-level apps

Expensive; iOS 11 isn't available yet; Port selection still lacking compared to a regular laptop

The latest iPad Pro – including the new 10.5-inch model – is the easily the best iPad Apple has ever produced. It can offer high-end users a powerful yet enjoyable experience as a genuine laptop replacement.

Review: Apple's 2017 10.5" iPad Pro stuns with 120Hz ProMotion display

Last year, we gave the 9.7-inch iPad Pro a score of four out of five. Some of our issues with that release -2 gigabytes of RAM, a USB 2 speed Lightning port -have been addressed. Our concerns about the price not only remain, but have been amplified.

Apple iPad Pro 10.5 review: The tablet to finally replace your laptop?

Apple continues to evolve the iPad, with the iPad Pro 10.5 giving customers more reasons to upgrade their ageing Apple tablet. As the 10.5 numerical suggests, this Pro is a new size for iPad: smaller than the 12.9-inch model, and only marginally larger than the outgoing 9.7-inch model, the 10.5...

Great display in an ultra-portable design; keyboard accessory now full-size; as speedy as you could need

Not a huge change over the 9.7-inch model it replaces so not an upgrade proposition for all

Review: Apple iPad Pro 10.5 (2017)

If Tony Stark built tablets instead of mechanised suits of armour, I think he'd struggle to come up with something better. This is an iPad that's truly deserving of that "Pro" moniker.

Apple 10.5?inch iPad Pro Review

Apple's 10.5-inch iPad Pro is the best tablet in the world, period.

Excellent display; with high refresh rate; Buttery-smooth performance; Long battery life; Robust tablet-support apps; Great camera; speakers

Pricey; No fast charging

The iPad has a problem that we should all wish to have: It's too damn good . The battery life and standby battery life are superb, the screen is pretty, the apps are nice, and the thing is powerful enough it can last for years.

A larger size means a roomier keyboard

The 120Hz refresh rate is currently useful only for artists

Apple's 10.5-inch iPad Pro: The iPad to replace your laptop

The Apple 10.5-inch iPad Pro represents a turning point in the history of the iPad tablet. Having cut the price of its 9.7-inch, non-pro tablet earlier in the year, the strategy for the iPad Pro is clear: Apple wants its customers to view its new 10.5-inch tablet principally as a laptop replacement...

Great performance; Ultra lightweight; Apple Pencil and keyboard cover work well

Expensive; Still an iOS device

Starting at £619 for 64GB and running to £889 for 512GB, the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is a big step up in price over the tablet it replaces. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro cost £499 for the 32GB model and £599 for the 128GB model; this one is £20 more expensive for a tablet with half the storage.
