The best iPad you can buy. Pair it with the Smart Keyboard or Pencil for a productive mobile powerhouse, just make sure the apps and software you need to be most productive are compatible first.
The current non-Pro iPad, starting at $329 for 32GB, is all the slate you need for traditional tablet use, which includes games, magazines, comics, and basic email, writing, and web browsing.
Extremely fast; Light; Excellent screen and cameras; Better battery life than previous iPads
Expensive; Using iOS for pro-level applications requires a shift in thinking; Screen technologies may be too advanced to perceive
Today, we have an iPad Pro 10.5-inch review for you, but first let’s explain the growing confusion over the iPad lineup. In March, Apple unveiled a new iPad matching the size of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro — but it lacked “Pro” specifications and capabilities, such as support for the Apple Pencil. But there was still 2016’s 9.7-inch iPad Pro model and the original 13-inch iPad Pro. Our iPad Pro review is for the new 10.5-inch Pro tablet, which replaces the 9.7-inch model. That leaves us with a 9.7-inch regular iPad, a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro — the latter saw a performance refresh matching its smaller brother. Oh, and don’t forget the 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4, which did not get an update. There are four sizes in the iPad lineup, which does get confusing; to know exactly which one to buy, try our easy, practical guide on How to choose an iPad. So how does the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro fare? It’s the best tablet in the world, period. Admittedly, the tablet market is hardly what it...
Excellent display, with high refresh rate; Buttery-smooth performance; Long battery life; Robust tablet-support apps; Great camera, speakers;
Pricey; No fast charging;
Apple has decided not to give the iPad Pro 10.5 a full makeover and instead made real improvements where it matters most. Particularly the new display is impressive - its great reflective properties and HDR capabilities will be particularly interesting for fans of movies, TV series and gaming.
very good display; fast Wi-Fi; additional Apple SIM (LTE-versions only; speedy SoC; decent speakers; good battery runtimes
no support for Galileo GNSS; pressure-sensitive case; one-year warranty only; display does not support P3 despite claims; slower memory than predecessor; long charging times
If Tony Stark built tablets instead of mechanised suits of armour, I think he'd struggle to come up with something better. This is an iPad that's truly deserving of that "Pro" moniker.
More than most tech companies out there, Apple is a manufacturer that really gets set in its ways: no doubt after a long period of careful consideration, Apple tends to decide, "this is how we're going to do things," and keeps on doing that same thing, over and over, for years and years.
Big; beautiful screen (but not TOO big; Bassy; rich sound; Day-long battery life; Laptop-competitive performance; Great camera for when you need it
With accessories; starts getting expensive; fast; Even with split-screen; iOS doesn't feel optimized for tablets; Audio recording when shooting video doesn't sound great
Apple's 10.5-inch iPad Pro is the best tablet in the world, period.
Excellent display; with high refresh rate; Buttery-smooth performance; Long battery life; Robust tablet-support apps; Great camera; speakers
Pricey; No fast charging
I've always assumed Apple would eventually run out of ways to improve the iPad. It long ago made the processor faster than anyone needs. You won't find a sharper, more accurate, more responsive screen on a tablet. The battery lasts days, plural. And really, what else matters?
More screen is always a good thing, and this one's both faster and more responsive; Battery still lasts for days, processor still runs great; iOS 11 turns the iPad into a real computer
$650 is a lot for an iPad, and that doesn't include the Pencil and keyboard; Until the new software shows up, more screen doesn't change much
I bought it for my teenager to help with her GCSE and art design; Will be buying the pencil to go with it soon; She loves it
Nothing; It is quite robust and a good size
It's easy to leap to categorizing new products like Apple's iPad Pro 10.5 as either revolutionary or evolutionary. Do they break new, uncharted ground, or are they last year's flagship, polished and refined for another attempt?
ProMotion 120Hz display is astonishingly good; Apple A10X Fusion processor is wicked-fast; Solid battery life; Ever-growing selection of pro-level apps
Expensive; iOS 11 isn't available yet; Port selection still lacking compared to a regular laptop
