iPad Pro 10.5 Review: Is the Best iPad Good Enough

The best iPad you can buy. Pair it with the Smart Keyboard or Pencil for a productive mobile powerhouse, just make sure the apps and software you need to be most productive are compatible first.

Apple iPad Pro (10.5-Inch)

The current non-Pro iPad, starting at $329 for 32GB, is all the slate you need for traditional tablet use, which includes games, magazines, comics, and basic email, writing, and web browsing.

Extremely fast; Light; Excellent screen and cameras; Better battery life than previous iPads

Expensive; Using iOS for pro-level applications requires a shift in thinking; Screen technologies may be too advanced to perceive

Apple iPad Pro (10.5-Inch) Review

It's taken seven years for Apple to achieve a laptop-class tablet with a truly touch-first interface and pro-level apps. The first iPad Pro worthy of the name, the 10.5-inch model ($649 for 64GB) could herald a whole new way of working. With a blazing-fast A10X processor and a new generation of apps, the Apple slate is finally capable of doing many of the things you would typically use a laptop for. But the entirely new workflow involved with professional-level tasks on an iPad use takes some getting used to. Physical Form and Display The 10.5-inch iPad Pro ($499.99 at Best Buy) replaces the 9.7-inch model that was released last year. As far as design goes, it's still an attractive metal slab with a glass screen. It's slightly taller and wider, but slimmer than the 9.7-inch model and the current non-Pro iPad, with somewhat narrower but still quite visible bezels. There's a Touch ID home button at the bottom of the screen, volume buttons on the side, and a power button and headph...

Apple's 10.5-inch iPad Pro tablet packs as much power as a laptop, but using iOS for pro-level applications will take some getting used to for many professionals.

Apple iPad Pro 10.5 Tablet Review

Apple has decided not to give the iPad Pro 10.5 a full makeover and instead made real improvements where it matters most. Particularly the new display is impressive - its great reflective properties and HDR capabilities will be particularly interesting for fans of movies, TV series and gaming.

very good display; fast Wi-Fi; additional Apple SIM (LTE-versions only; speedy SoC; decent speakers; good battery runtimes

no support for Galileo GNSS; pressure-sensitive case; one-year warranty only; display does not support P3 despite claims; slower memory than predecessor; long charging times

Review: Apple iPad Pro 10.5 (2017)

If Tony Stark built tablets instead of mechanised suits of armour, I think he'd struggle to come up with something better. This is an iPad that's truly deserving of that "Pro" moniker.

Apple iPad Pro 10.5 Review

More than most tech companies out there, Apple is a manufacturer that really gets set in its ways: no doubt after a long period of careful consideration, Apple tends to decide, "this is how we're going to do things," and keeps on doing that same thing, over and over, for years and years.

Big; beautiful screen (but not TOO big; Bassy; rich sound; Day-long battery life; Laptop-competitive performance; Great camera for when you need it

With accessories; starts getting expensive; fast; Even with split-screen; iOS doesn't feel optimized for tablets; Audio recording when shooting video doesn't sound great

Review: Apple iPad Pro (10.5-inch)

I've always assumed Apple would eventually run out of ways to improve the iPad. It long ago made the processor faster than anyone needs. You won't find a sharper, more accurate, more responsive screen on a tablet. The battery lasts days, plural. And really, what else matters?

More screen is always a good thing, and this one's both faster and more responsive; Battery still lasts for days, processor still runs great; iOS 11 turns the iPad into a real computer

$650 is a lot for an iPad, and that doesn't include the Pencil and keyboard; Until the new software shows up, more screen doesn't change much

I bought it for my teenager to help with her GCSE and art design; Will be buying the pencil to go with it soon; She loves it

Nothing; It is quite robust and a good size

iPad Pro 10.5 Review (2017): Half the laptop-replacement story

It's easy to leap to categorizing new products like Apple's iPad Pro 10.5 as either revolutionary or evolutionary. Do they break new, uncharted ground, or are they last year's flagship, polished and refined for another attempt?

ProMotion 120Hz display is astonishingly good; Apple A10X Fusion processor is wicked-fast; Solid battery life; Ever-growing selection of pro-level apps

Expensive; iOS 11 isn't available yet; Port selection still lacking compared to a regular laptop
