This Ipad is for my 11 year old. He plays games and watches a lot of YouTube. I do wish there were more parental controls on there, especially when it comes to internet surfing.

Hard to write a review for an iPad cover. But this is a great colour, does exactly what it needs to do. It arrived very quickly and as it is a gift will be loved I am sure.

Apple went gone where we never thought it would, with the iPad mini bringing the Apple tablet experience to a brave new budget world. Two generations on and the original mini now comes in at a wallet-friendly ￡199 / $249 / AU$299 for the Wi-Fi version, with 16GB of storage on offer.

Update: One month on and Apple's first 7-inch tablet is still leading the way.

The iPad mini goes on sale 2 November, and while specs and features won't come as a surprise to many, I've been enjoying an early test run over the last week, using it in place of a  3 rd generation iPad – the one with the Retina display – to see how it fits into my daily life.
