Apple iPad Air 2 review: His Airness

Another millimeter thinner, the new iPad Air 2 has a body that's even more befitting the ethereal moniker the iPad bears second year in a row. Outside of that little fact however, the changes may not be as easy to spot. And that's hardly a surprise.

3G/LTE 150Mbps model available as an option (comes with GPS/GLONASS, 9.7" LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen, 1536 x 2048 pixels, ~ 264ppi; scratch-resistant, oleophobic coating, 56% less reflectance claimed, Thinner than ever at 6.1 mm and lighter at 437g, A8X 64-bit chipset (rumored as triple-core,...

Hardware Mute/Rotation lock switch is gone for no practical reason; No microSD slot; Pricey storage upgrades; 32GB version should be standard for the asking price; No enhanced resistance to liquids or dust; while the competition has them; Tied into iTunes for uploading most of the content; iOS UI...

Poor Packaging

I was surprised at how poorly packaged this item was. There was no padding in the box except for a piece of paper and the ipad box itself had badly b

iPad Air 2 review, one year on: Still the best mid-size tablet

Welcome to our iPad Air 2 review, last updated back in January 2016. Please note that (as of 21 March 2017) the Air 2 is no longer on sale on Apple's online store (you'll still be able to find it on some reseller websites and through Apple's education sales scheme).

iPad Air 2 Review: The BEST Value Tablet Money Can Buy

Apple's iPad Air 2 sees key new additions in lots of important areas, so do not be fooled by its familiar exterior

Excellent Display; Masses of power; Gorgeous design, Lightweight; Vast ecosystem; Improved Imaging; More memory

No NFC; Battery is smaller than previous generation (not that you'll notice

iPad Air 2 review

The iPad Air 2 is lighter, thinner and faster than its predecessor, but the updates are not enough to make it worth ditching the old model if you already have one.

Nippy performance; anti-reflective screen; slim profile; good battery life; Touch ID sensor

Camera still struggles in poor lighting; not many signifcant changes over the original iPad Air

iPad Air 2 review

When we began this review 3,000 words ago, we wanted to determine whether the iPad Air 2 was as perfect in 2014 as the iPad Air was in 2013. The answer is yes. It has earned the same perfect score as its predecessor, making the iPad Air line the only two products to which we have ever awarded...

Gorgeous design; thinner and lighter than last model; tri-core CPU screams; double RAM of last model; long battery life; excellent photography for a tablet; fingerprint recognition; excellent selection of apps; still easy to use

Drawbacks will be subjective, such as a less open app ecosystem; lacks 60fps video capture of iPhone line; speaker quality reduced versus predecessor

iPad Air 2

If you're short of time and need to get off then all you need to heed is this, the iPad Air 2 is the best tablet we've ever reviewed. Apple has done it again and improved on the already excellent iPad Air (that's remains on sale for a lower price) from 2013.

Screen doesn't reflect much; Great performance; Ultra-slim design; Improved camera

Battery life a little lower; 16GB version storage too low

Apple great as ever

I was upragding from an IPad 2 and am pleased with the increase in speed even though wi-fi speeds here are dreadful the bigger processor has made a difference. I was amazed at thiw easy it was just to download all the information from the iCloud and there was everything as it should be.

Quality; weight; speed of operation

Just what we were looking for.

It is functional, and does what we require of it. Have not got to grips with everything yet, but are getting there.
