New Apple iPad 2017 review: Solid, affordable replacement for the aging Air

4.0
Verdict: With the tablet market slowing down, and upgrade cycles being so long, Apple could perhaps have been forgiven for focussing mostly on its laptop-challenging Pro series. In fact, it's been almost two and a half years since the regular full-size iPads got a refresh.
Pros: Great app ecosystem, easy to use interface, slick and reliable performance, long lasting battery
Cons: Screen not quite as good as the iPad Air 2

iPad (2017) review: With a stripped-down iPad for $329, you may not need to go pro

4.5
Verdict: If you don't need all the iPad Pro features or you just want to spend a lot less, this iPad is a great choice.
Pros: New lower price, starting at $329, Excellent battery life

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

4.5
Verdict: Amazon sells a Kids Edition of its Fire tablet, which is the exact same tablet they sell for adults, but in a kid-friendly case, with a year's worth of the FreeTime Unlimited service for kids apps and content. Apple does not do this. But at $329 for 32GB of storage, the new iPad is pretty close.

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

5.0
Verdict: I've focused a lot in this review on what the new Apple iPad (2017) doesn't have and, although the existence of the iPad Pro series makes that inevitable, it isn't a particularly fair way to view it.

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

4.3
Verdict: Apple's newest iPad is a budget model that samples the best parts from past hits. We've got the original iPad Air's body stuffed with the iPhone 6s's A9 chipset and paired with a brighter version of the iPad Air 2's display. We have no complaints about performance, and battery life is excellent.

Apple iPad (Third Generation) Review

4.5
Verdict: So here it is, Apple's new iPad, or iPad 3 if you prefer to call it that (Apple doesn't). You've heard the hype -- it's 'resolutionary,' 'it's a magical piece of glass,' 'it's a major breakthrough,' 'it's powerful and amazing,' 'it's profoundly better,' 'it's the ultimate iPad,' according to Apple.
Pros: Sexy Display, High Octane Graphics, 4G LTE, at Long Last, A Camera that Doesn't Stink, Say It Don't Spray It
Cons: CPU Hasn't Changed, FaceTime Still Stinks, Technically Bigger/Heavier, Still Missing Features

New 2017 iPad Review: Apple Offers a Budget Tablet

No reviews
Verdict: Apple's new 9.7-inch 2017 iPad doesn't come with a lot of surprises except for one, the $329 price tag Apple gave the 32GB model. It now competes with other budget tablets including the company's own

Review: Apple iPad (2017)

4.2
Verdict: Here's an interesting fact for you: if you take the iPad mini out of the equation, Apple's sales of larger iPads actually rose last quarter. The release of the iPad Pro 9.7 coupled with the enduring popularity of the iPad Air 2 meant that, far from being in decline, the iPad was on the up.

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

4.5
Verdict: It's hard not to compare this fifth-generation iPad to the tablets that came before it as it's essentially a hodgepodge of hardware and components Apple already had lying around with the latest iOS software slapped on top. But a Frankenstein's monster this is not.
Pros: Respectable battery life, Sturdy and lightweight, Beautiful design, Affordable

Apple iPad (Fourth Generation) in-depth review -

4.5
Verdict: Check out our full comparison with the iPad Mini ! Launched at the same time as the Apple iPad Mini , the fourth generation iPad came as a bit of a surprise, mostly because the third generation iPad hit our shelves just six short months ago.
Pros: Impressive Retina display; Surprisingly good battery life; Great range of apps; 4G support; Updated FaceTime camera
Cons: Not very portable; No memory card slot

Apple iPad - Sheer Tablet Brilliance

No reviews
Verdict: The Apple iPad has been termed "revolutionary" by the venerable Steve Jobs, but how it does it actually perform? Will it render netbooks obsolete? Will the lack of flash and multitasking be a deal-breaker? We spend time with the device to find out.

Apple iPad

4.0
Verdict: The Apple iPad isn't an eBook reader, which makes it very hard to compare it to other eBook readers. It doesn't use e-ink technology, it's heavy, you can't read out of it in bright places, and the display will strain your eyes eventually.
Pros: Amazing design, Most intuitive interface yet, Full-color screen, Wi-Fi and 3G wireless, Will do just about anything
Cons: LCD display is hard to read from in bright places and will eventually strain your eyes, Battery lasts only ten hours, Heavy, Costs almost twice as much as the Kindle 2 or Nook, Additional 3G wireless fees apply (around $130

Apple iPad review

2.0
Verdict: The iPad is a great tool if you only need the capabilities of an iPhone with a large screen. Sure, email and the browser excel here, but to make it perfect for everything else, it needs much better security and you'll have to purchase the extra dock and keyboard to make working on the move viable.

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

Verdict: It was January 27th be the day when Apple, after having revolutionized personal computing, music and voice, would create a new market altogether. And it starts with the AppStore : 140 000 applications are proposed for 3 billion downloads.

Apple iPad Review

3.5
Verdict: Of course the iPad is not solely an entertainment device. It offers serious functionality such as such as simple-to-use email and a fine e-reader for, y'know, "books." At the same time, it lacks the goods under the hood to make it a viable alternative to a true "tablet computer," for mainstream work...
Pros: Big, gorgeous screen, Works with current iPhone/iPod touch apps, Up to a 64GB of memory (and 8+ hours of battery life) in a slim package, Movies, music, internet and more, big enough to share and intuitive to operate
Cons: How are we supposed to hold it for long periods of time, Onboard sound is severely limited, No flash support, Charging is not as simple as it could be

Apple iPad Review

4.0
Verdict: It has its limitations but as long as you know this before you buy, the iPad is sexy, slick, fast and a real object of desire.
Pros: Email and web were made for the iPad, games look great and play smoothly, the operating system is solid, speedy and oh-so-easy to use
Cons: Flash player for webpage videos, no camera or webcam, costs a small fortune

Apple iPad (2017) Review

No reviews
Verdict: With its epic battery life, speedy performance and brilliant display, the 2017 iPad is the best tablet for the money and one of the best tablets overall. Review: Apple's 2017 9.7" iPad with A9 CPU isn't a game-changer, but it isn't supposed to be

4.5
Verdict: The 2017 9.7-inch iPad isn't intended to revolutionize Apple's tablet offerings, but it does go a long way to unifying the product line, and paving the way for the future of the platform -all starting at just $329.

Apple iPad (2017) review: the best feature is the price

4.4
Verdict: Here's what you need to know about the new iPad: it is an iPad, and it is good. Apple has named it simply iPad but we have to refer to it as "iPad (2017)" or "iPad (5th generation)" or "new iPad 9.7" because the world is a broken place. I am just going to call it the iPad.
Pros: It is an iPad, The price is reasonable, It's fast
Cons: Screen could be nicer, No smart connector for keyboards, Speakers only on one side

Apple iPad

Verdict: Is it worth it? Put it this way. If you never bought one, you wouldn't miss it. But buy it and you'll soon wonder how you lived without it.

Cons: Quite an expensive gadget, expensive accessories, no Flash support

Apple iPad

3.5
Verdict: There are two conclusions to be made about the Apple iPad. As a product you could buy, it's a tempting but ultimately unconvincing device. Anyone with a particular penchant for Apple, or enough money to burn and a love of shiny tech, are likely to buy into it.

Apple iPad (Wi-Fi + 3G)

4.0
Verdict: The Apple iPad is a revolutionary, addictive Tablet PC with Wi-Fi. Add in 3G, and it becomes even more useful, just perhaps not $130 more useful, which is the premium you'll pay for always-on connectivity. And with 3G you have to tack on another $15 to $30 a month for service.
Pros: Sleek design. Gorgeous, sharp, accurate touch screen. Improved iPod, Safari browser, photo, and e-mail apps. A plethora of downloadable apps. Flexible and affordable 3G service plans
Cons: Costs $130 more than the Wi-Fi-only version. Some applications don't work over 3G. AT&T is the only U.S. carrier with 3G support. Watch our Apple iPad video review

Apple iPad – Not For You, But For The Other 99%

No reviews
Verdict: It was impossible for Apple to have created the magical device people were conjuring up in rumors. (No, despite the copious use of the word ‘magical' in Apple's marketing campaign for the device, it's not magical.) Perhaps the iteration they launched here was a bit of a conservative effort.

Apple iPad (2017) review

5.0
Verdict: The new Apple iPad (2017) surprised everyone when it was revealed on 21 March. We were all expecting the iPad Air 3. At least, that's what all the rumours pointed towards. Instead what we got was a hybrid of the original iPad Air and the iPad Air 2 – simply called the iPad (2017).
Pros: Cheap (for an iPad, Great performance, Generous storage
Cons: Screen isn't as good as iPad Air 2

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

4.0
Verdict: The 2017 iPad's new, aggressive pricing is laser-guided to take down premium-priced Android equivalents. That, plus its impressive battery life and infinite well-curated apps, make it today's best-value tablet.
Pros: Newly competitive price for its screen size, Solid construction, Strong app ecosystem, Satisfying battery life
Cons: Incrementally thicker than predecessor, Slow charging

Apple iPad (2017) Tablet Review

4.5
Verdict: Old wine in new bottles – we hear this quite often when a manufacturer refreshes a supposedly old product. Especially when it is equipped with dated technology. This is also the case for Apple's latest iPad. The iOS tablet from 2017 is just that: recycled, dated hardware in an even older chassis.
Pros: bright display, accurate colors, precise touchscreen, excellent build quality, long battery runtime, high browser performance
Cons: outdated SoC, very glossy screen, old LTE standard, slightly increased black value, no support for Apple pencil

iPad 9.7in WiFi 32GB

3.9
Verdict: A pple had one major problem with their iPad range. The original tablets were good enough to last for years if kept in good condition, which is why the company introduced the Air and Pro ranges. Finally, after almost five years, the company launched the 5th-generation edition earlier in 2017.

iPad (2017) review: Perfect for first-time tablet buyers

4.0
Verdict: Conclusion One other thing to point out is that the new iPad does not include the Smart Connecter found on Apple's two current iPad Pro models. As such, it is incompatible with the company's Smart Keyboard attachment.
Pros: Affordable price (for an Apple product, Fast and capable A9 system-on-a-chip, 1.3 million apps specifically designed for the iPad
Cons: Non wide-gamut display that isn't fully laminated, Dated camera technology, Not compatible with Smart Keyboard or Apple Pencil

Review of Apple iPad 32 GB Wi-Fi

Verdict: When I first heard of its announcement one of my chief complaints about the iPad was Apple's decision to use the iPhone OS. Instead of crippling the capability of the tablet; why not use a modified version of Snow Leopard?
Pros: Brilliant display, Long battery life, Great media player, Well built, looks great, Can be used as picture frame when docked, Built in Wireless N Capability, Huge selection of Apps (counting iPhone/iPod Touch ones
Cons: Non-Removable battery, Mono Speaker, Fingerprint magnet, No built in mic or camera, Closed ecosystem

Review: Apple iPad

1.0
Verdict: On the eve of the launch of Apple's iPad, I am thinking of Ed Roberts. He never became a household name, but as the man behind the Altair computer - a kit for lunatic tech hobbyists released in 1975 - he was responsible for launching the microcomputer era.
Pros: Compact, cool-running, speedy - and a groundbreaking new way to consume media. You already know how to use it. Thousands of apps will make it more useful and fun
Cons: No multitasking means no gadgets or widgets: Does IM really need a full screen? Virtual typing is tricky when holding iPad upright. No way to print directly. Apps are only available from Apple's App Store
