New Apple iPad

Still the finest large-screen tablet on the market, the third-generation Apple iPad ($499-$829) delivers an unmatched array of excellent apps on a truly gorgeous screen. The high-res display and fast 4G LTE are the best of what's changed from the wildly popular iPad 2 ($399, 4.5 stars), and the...

Breathtaking display; The best app selection of any tablet; Excellent 3G and 4G network compatibility

No camera settings; 4G data usage is difficult to monitor; Apps are starting to strain the processor

Apple iPad (3rd generation)

This year, it's all about the screen. The third-generation iPad has lots of other improvements but it's the brilliance of the display which leaps out at you as soon as you wake the screen. Apple has come in for some criticism that the new iPad doesn't offer as many new features as some had hoped.

Screen; HSPA+; faster processor; largest number of tablet specific apps

No weight reduction over previous model; no increase in battery life; high resolution apps take up more storage space

Not just a large ipod touch

There's plenty of people slating this product. I bought mine from Apple in the USA after queuing for hours. The built is typical Apple, sturdy, well designed and looks great. Although does feel slightly heavy but you soon get used to it.

Apple new iPad review: A truly outstanding display makes the third-generation iPad the best yet

Apple's new iPad isn't a revolutionary upgrade to the iPad 2 , but the combination of a superb display and great software means it remains by far and away the best tablet on the market.

Outstanding display; Slick user experience and software; Dual-channel HSPA+ speeds

Not 4G-capable in Australia; Thicker & heavier than predecessor; Gets warm during regular use

New Apple iPad (3rd Generation) Review: The Best Gets Better

Apple has the lion's share of the world tablet market because it makes computers that offer the features that millions of people want without being weighed down with extraneous bells and whistles. The new iPad is a fine example of this.

Retina Display is beautiful; 4G LTE almost as fast as Wi-Fi; 1GB of RAM; Decent camera

No expandable memory; Processor heats up

Apple iPad 3

If the tablet market of 2012 were a monarchy, then the iPad 3 Wi-Fi would be the one you'd find sitting comfortably atop the throne. The kingdom's crown jewel? You guessed it: a sweet, sweet apple with a little bite in it.

Apple New iPad

If you've never seen or used an iPad before, be prepared for something amazing. If you are a previous iPad owner, still be prepared as there are a lot of improvements here that may make you still throw your cash Apple's way.

High Resolution 2048 x 1536 ‘Retina' Display; Much improved 5 megapixel rear camera; Almost unlimited number and type of apps; Free and easy updating of apps; Faster and more powerful; Easy to use interface

Battery Life; No Flash support; No HDMI or USB connection; No memory card slots; Poor 0.3 megapixel front camera; No Siri

Apple iPad (2012) Review

If you are an iPad 'one' user, or a user of any other tablet available in the market, then you should consider the upgrade to the New iPad. If you are an iPad 2 user however, we suggest you skip this iteration and wait for the fourth generation iPad as that will be a better value for money upgrade...

Retina Display; Better rear camera; Snappier performance

Slightly heavier than the iPad 2; 4G capabilities unavailable in India; Apps will consumer more space; courtesy new display

Apple new Ipad

'Resolutionary' display Apple has coined this new term to highlight the upgraded screen in the new Ipad, which is indeed impressive. The 9.7in Retina LED-backlit widescreen display packs 2048x1536 pixels, equating to 3.1 million pixels at a rate of 264 pixels per inch.

High-quality display; responsive; fast performance; good battery life; lightweight

4G not available in UK yet; lack of killer new feature means this isn't a must-have upgrade for Ipad 2 owners; but viewed as a standalone tablet it's the best around; We would have liked a different name
