Exceptional resolution

Really nice for close-ups and macro. I like the DOF that the 1:2 magnification provides; especially with crop frame.

Awesome lens

I had a Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro that I sold. If you really really must have auto-focus you should definitely get that or the Sigma. I love this lens. I love manual focus. The bokeh and micro-contrast are splendid.

Consistent Output; Durable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Nice Bokeh; Strong Construction

Pricey but worth it

Impressive lens All my reviews

Yes it's expensive but after seeing the results I'm more than happy I made the investment in this beautifully crafted lens. I was a little apprehensive about this being a manual focus but, in use, I find this to be of no concern whatsoever. The focussing ring is both large and velvet smooth.

Zeiss 100mm f/2 Makro Classic Lens Review

The anticipation of receiving a new lens always brings on a smile. Most lenses generate a smile when you open the just-arrived box - concluding the anticipation. Some lenses bring a smile to your face when, upon removing them from the box and during use, you realize their build quality.

Zeiss Makro-Planar T* F2 100mm ZE review

It's more than double the price of Canon's EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro and Sigma's 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM , but this optic boasts an exceptionally wide maximum aperture for a macro lens.

Zeiss Milvus 2/100M Review

The Zeiss Milvus 2/100M ($1,843) is a purely cosmetic update to the discontinued Marko-Planar T* 2/100 ($645.00 at Amazon) , as there was no reason to update the excellent optics and unique f/2 macro design used in the older lens. For the same price, you get a lens that's sealed against dust and moisture, and—if you're a Nikon shooter—one that supports clickless aperture control for video recording. It's an exceptional performer, capturing images that are just as sharp at the edges of the frame as they are in the center, and focusing close enough to capture objects at half life-size, earning Editors' Choice honors in the process. DesignThe 2/100M ($1,658.00 at Amazon) matches the design of the other lenses in the Milvus family. It's housed in a matte black metal barrel that's sealed to protect the lens from dust and splashes. It's hefty, weighing in at 1.9 pounds and measuring 4.1 by 3.2 inches (HD). Its front element isn't huge, but it's big enough to require you to invest in the...

The Zeiss Milvus 2/100M is a unique f/2 macro lens that's capable of capturing incredibly sharp images.

Sharp from edge to edge; Minimal distortion; Wide aperture design; Resistant to dust and splashes; Superb build; Available for Canon and Nikon SLRs

Dim corners at f/2; Magnification limited to 1:2; Manual focus isn't for everyone; Expensive
