I owned a Zeiss 8X monocular. The optics were, of course, superb, couldn't have been happier. But, the past tense is there because it went to the wild. The lanyard neck loop attachment to the monocular was of poor quality on my unit.

When I was searching for a compact binocular, I want one with top quality, relatively reasonable price and great image. I was comparing the top compact ones from Leica, Zeiss, Nikon. I gave up Leica and Nikon because of the duel hinge bridge. I feel duel hinge binoculars are hard to handle.
Compact; Lightweight; Quality Lenses; Works Well With Glasses
I bought these reluctantly as a back-up for my Zeiss 7x42s. I say reluctantly because I always hate leaving the full size pair behind. But on family or work trips where you might only get out into the field a couple of times it's just not always possible to justify the space and weight they take up...
Build quality; Clarity; Close focus; Ergonomics; Lightweight
Flare; Stiff focus wheel
This monocular in my opinion, after having owned it several years, is not anywhere near worth its asking price. It is good, but not great. Pros: light weight, relatively sharp resolution edge to edge, durable and compact.
