Nintendo has long been the leading light in the platforming genre, a part of that legacy being the focus of Super Mario Anniversary celebrations this year. It's a genre with plenty of scope for variety, however, which is something Nintendo pushed forward with the superb Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's...
It has been a long time since Mario's dinosaur pal Yoshi had his own game on a major home console. The first was Yoshi's Island for the SNES back in 1996, and the second was Yoshi's Story in 1998 for the Nintendo 64.
Great graphics; Great music, Nice mode for newcomers; Lots to collect, great Amiibo support
None really; More stages would have been good though
First off this game is great for adults and kids and you get your money worth as its a pretty long game with lots to do and collect. i bought from gameseek as i found this was the cheapest place to buy from. 5/5 rating from me
While it didn't quite captivate me from beginning to end, at its prime I was enamoured by Yoshi's Woolly World . It's a thoroughly enjoyable experience that can't be found elsewhere, and while best played in under an hour bursts to avoid repetition, it's an innovative spin on a Nintendo classic.
+ Looks amazing; + Embraces the yarn universe well; + Level design is mostly great; + Make your own fun with collectables
- Becomes repetitive a little sooner than expected; - Bosses suck; - Awesome yarn amiibo; but it doesn't add much
This is such a cute game to play. My 10 year old son loves it. It's a lot like playing super mario but with yoshi.
Fun To Play; Kid Appropriate
Yoshi's wooly world is such a cool game overall. Totally nice graphics and what i thought was a step up from Kirby's epic yarn. It has pretty much same fetures epic yarn does except your Yoshi ans he has his tounge instead. The enemies are fun to muck around with too somehow.
Yoshi's wooly world is not likely to blow your mind, but it is a perfect example of what it is trying to be, A 2D Yoshi game. It feels and looks like a highly polished game with level designs that were clearly given much thought.
The graphics are charming and appealing! It takes you to a happy place and is a lot of fun for all ages! Even teenagers! The levels start off fairly simple, and progress to down right challenging. With tons of hidden secrets and items to find. This game makes for a good family/friend time.
Great family fun game. Great for really young kids. You have to collect all of the yarn balls to release another Yoshi character on each level. Yoshi characters can "eat" each other to help get past certain areas and then "spit" them back out - which my son thinks is hilarious.
