Yoshi's Crafted World is a fantastic reminder of what makes Nintendo games great. At a time when other publishers are adding more and more into their games, Nintendo has shown that creative levels and an incredibly cute art style is all you need for a good time.

Yoshi’s Crafted World doesn’t do quite enough with its arts and crafts theme to earn itself a place in the pantheon of all-time platforming greats, but it’s an endearing and endlessly charming adventure that, like the best games starring Nintendo’s mascots, can be enjoyed by all ages. This is a game built for laid-back exploration rather than speedrunning, but the playfulness of the level design will have you smiling from start to finish. It really is amazing what you can do with a few empty toilet rolls.

Yoshi's Island on the SNES is an undeniable masterpiece. From its innovative gameplay to its gorgeous aesthetic, many people, myself included, herald this title as one of the best 2D platformers of all-time.

Double the above down with the idea that this is now a portable game -- something we tend to harp on a bit about where Nintendo Switch games are concerned, but that shouldn't be misrepresented because who doesn't love gaming-on-the-go, right

My 7 year old son LOVES it. He used his own money that he saved and said it was definitely worth it. He saved a long time for that money and has no regrets.

In 1995, Yoshi had his moment. The character's Super Mario World debut was so strong, Nintendo handed the dinosaur sidekick his own sequel. A surprise divergence from the Mario franchise found the character escorting a baby version of the plumber in search of his kidnapped twin.

Yoshi's Crafted World was first announced at E3 in 2017 and unlike some of the other iconic household names coming to the Nintendo Switch, Yoshi hasn't really had the Super Mario treatment in terms of a marketing push, other than the odd trailer or preview here and there.
