An improved hardy design and upgraded sensors render this a welcome improvement over the original Amazfit T-Rex, however, the software experience lacks depth and flexibility.
Broad workout selection; Durable, robust design; Good value;
Laggy performance; Closed ecosystem; Plastic build;
A good outdoor watch for those on a budget, featuring a rugged look and plenty of fitness and sports tracking features. The lack of proper navigation and some questionable data results still means it's not quite in the same league as Garmin or Polar outdoor watches though. But that's very much reflected in the price.
Solid sports tracking; Rugged military grade design; Added altimeter;
Heart rate accuracy for exercise; No navigation features; Plasticky build;
If you’re after a rugged smartwatch to accurately track and map your exercise while measuring your heart-rate, and also your sleep this is a great value option. However, its flurry of data is often meaningless and it doesn’t talk to third-party apps.
Heart rate and SpO2 tracking; Clear data readouts; Week-long battery life; Waterproof to 100m; Color display;
No GPS navigation; No third-party app integration; Lackluster design; Confusing ‘PAI’ scores

It’s a follow-up of sorts to the T-Rex from early 2020, but it’s not the major evolutionary leap we’d like to see after a year of waiting. Repeating the same designs over and over (the Amazfit GT series all look basically the same too) isn’t what we expect these days, and while it may help keep the price down, it doesn’t really inspire much interest or excitement. Let’s take a closer look at the T-Rex Pro to find out if we should ignore the lack of imagination, or if Amazfit needs some inspiration. Did you see the Amazfit T-Rex? Good, because the T-Rex Pro looks almost identical. One slight change has made a difference to the impression the watch leaves, and that’s the different bezel treatment. The T-Rex’s bezel on my review sample was black plastic and looked cheap and nasty. The T-Rex Pro’s bezel is ...
