Xiaomi Amazfit Bip

The Xiaomi Huami AmazFit Bip is one of the more affordable smartwatches on the market but it certainly doesn't lack for features and performance. It's great value and very functional!

Your daily companion

Use the AmazFit Bip smartwatch to help navigate yourself through your busy day. The reflective always-on colour touch display is just as easy to read in full sun as it is indoors, and will show all of your phone’s app notifications including calendar alerts, text messages in full, emails, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, WeChat, LinkedIn, Snap, Slack, etc etc etc.

Record-breaking battery life

Believe it or not, The Xiaomi Huami AmazFit Bip will give you more than 30+ days of battery life on a single charge! Something to remember if you’re ever stranded on a desert island!

Lightweight watch, heavyweight performance

The Xiaomi Huami AmazFit Bip is a lightweight watch, so it's easy to wear. But inside that sleek design, there's a lot going on: GPS, barometer, geomagnetic sensor, PPG heart rate sensor and 3-axis accelerometer for activity, plus you can accurately track your runs, bike rides and other activities with detailed GPS routes and stats. Crucially, the watch also offers in-depth sleep tracking like duration, deep sleep and light sleep phases as well as awake times.

An action-packed screen

From the touch screen, it's easy to choose from a wide range of pre-installed apps that will let you access things like the local weather forecast, alarms and timers, compass, daily status overview including heart rate and the sports tracking options.

Amazfit Bip review: Why can’t more smartwatches be like the Amazfit Bip?

I've come to a realization about wearable tech: more smartwatches need to be a bit more like the Amazfit Bip. As in: easy, cheap, and with excellent battery life.

The Amazfit Bip is affordable, has fantastic battery life, and is the best low-key casual smartwatch around. It's a fine replacement for your old-school Pebble, minus the apps.

The Amazfit Bip is a complete fitness smartwatch that's a remarkable bargain; It has an always-on display, weeks-long battery life, plus extras like heart rate, GPS and water resistance; Works with Android and iOS; Gets notifications.

Plastic design and limited watch faces aren't as flashy as premium smartwatches; Mi Fit app isn't as refined as Fitbit for fitness or health tracking; No installable apps; Onboard features like stopwatch/timer can't run in background.

Amazfit Bip review

Xiaomi sub-brand Huami is continuing its march into the world of wearables with the Amazfit Bip. It's a budget smartwatch that bears more than a passing resemblance to the big boy in the smartwatch world, the Apple Watch . And when we say budget, we're talking budget .

Great battery life; Light and comfortable; Super cheap

Plasticky design; Limited features; Ugly interface

Amazfit Bip review

It’s easy to dismiss the Amazfit Bip as a Christmas cracker Apple Watch imitator, but that would be doing it a disservice. Sure, it’s not going to win any originality awards for its design, but you should really be thinking about the Bip as a replacement for the now defunct Pebble Watch, or a rival to the Ticwatch E. It does all of the fitness tracker basics plus phone notifications. And while there are shortcomings in every department - the inability to respond to notifications, a lack of apps, soul-crushingly slow GPS, the slightly temperamental charging - I think they’re much easier to accept when you remember how much money you handed over. For casual fitness tracking, it’s great, and the battery life is (occasionally temperamental charging aside) absolutely superb. Put this way: when the Amazfit Bip is eventually succeeded on my wrist by the watch it most closely resembles, I think I might just miss it.

Great battery life; Uncomplicated menus and simple interface; Impressive tracking; Extremely cheap (did we mention that?);

Screen quality reflects cost; Charging sometimes temperamental; Can't run third-party apps; Slow and occasionally buggy; No NFC;

Amazfit Bip Review: A Cheap Smartwatch That's Worth Buying

At less than $80, the Amazfit Bip is one of the least-expensive fitness trackers with both GPS and a heart rate monitor. It has a fairly good companion app, as well as a couple of independent, compatible apps for iOS and Android.

Extremely lightweight; Apple Watch style; Soft band that fits all wrist sizes comfortably; GPS; heart rate monitor; pedometer; notifications; Decent fitness tracker at a reasonable price; Transflective color display that's easy on the eyes and doesn't drain the battery

Heart rate and step measurements are not always precise; Graphics are low resolution; Lacks music storage and controls; Cannot respond to notifications

Amazfit Bip

I didn't know what to expect from a $99 smartwatch. I certainly didn't expect a GPS or a heart rate monitor. I also didn't expect it to look much different from a traditional fitness tracker, since those devices come in closer to the $99 price point than most smartwatches available today.

Simple; lightweight design; Ridiculously good battery life; A number of watch faces to choose from; Decent sleep tracker; Affordable

No downloadable; third-party apps; Not all alerts are labeled with its app of origin; Doesn't track many workouts; Slow GPS; Inconsistent heart rate monitor

The Huami Amazfit Bip fitness smartwatch is backed by Xiaomi. The device is priced at Rs 5,499 in India, and is available on Flipkart. It's another of many products that aim to bridge the gap between a smartwatch and a fitness tracker.
