XCOM: Enemy Unknown

When malevolent aliens invade the Earth, it's comforting to know that the fine men and women of the XCOM Project are back to defend our worldly borders. Few games are as beloved and revered by their fans as 1993's X-COM: UFO Defense - an out-of-this-world feat for the relatively stodgy genre of...

+ Deep turn-based strategy

XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Review (360, PC)

Worlds are at war again in Firaxis' XCOM Enemy Unknown, a slick reboot of the ‘90s DOS classic – which any fan will tell you didn't need one. Invaded by an unidentified flying armada, the game focused on turn-based management as you battled an alien enemy, letting you lead humanity's first line of...

Xcom Xbox360

Its an excellent game. I was surprised how much I am enjoying it. The graphics are a bit behind for a recent game, dull in many ways, but it works well and operates easily. Its a bit short too on evolving story. Its a good exciting game.

X-COM: Enemy Unknown Review - Xbox 360

I never played the original XCOM back when it was released in 1994 during what was something of a halcyon period for PC gaming. Therefore, the Xbox 360 version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown was my first foray into this popular franchise.

Xcom Enemy Unknown, a great game.

"Xcom Enemy Unknown is a turn-based,shooting,post apocalyptic game. Xcom is a division of units that is funded by countries around the world to stop and understand the alien invasion on Earth. You fail the game if too many countries pull out of the Xcom project.

Can be played over and over again and things wont alwasy work out the same

Storyline is short; not too many weapons; more customization would be nice

Finally Something a Little Different

Virtually a remake, albeit an updated one, of an almost twenty year old turn-based strategy game X-Com: Enemy Unknown is one of the most nerve-wracking games you'll ever play. Cast as the commander of an underground base of soldiers designed to fight against a mysterious alien invasion the game...

Nice game...

An enjoyable game, but it could've been better. I am a huge fan of the original, so the trimming of much of the intricate base building, micro-managed inventory, expansive research, and varied troop base skills killed much of XCOM: Enemy Unknown's charm.

Firaxis revisits the classic XCOM franchise with great results. Join the invasion with our full review.

+ Works well with a controller; + Sense of accomplishment and challenge; + Difficulty levels for all; + Extreme polish and balance

Learning curve can be tough; Awkward camera angles

In XCOM: Enemy Unknown, victory is sweet--but it's so much sweeter when it arrives after a heart-wrenching standoff. With each turn, the newest entry in this beloved strategy series heightens the sense of tension, and each defeat of a hovering alien craft thus becomes cause for celebration.

Tension-filled turn-based matches; Great sense of progression makes you feel increasingly powerful; Complex interconnected economy makes each decision important; Soldier perma-death gets you invested in the fate of your veterans

Map repetition; Camera foibles and other visual glitches
