While it's a stretch to call visual novels the new hotness, there has been an ever-so-slight surge in titles seeing English localization. For those who don't know, VNs are text-based games that feature largely static images and occasional decision-making.

this game has no gameplay. is that bad? No!!!! this game is a visual novel a vary popular genre that rarely comes to the West. so i bought the game you know what happend? i enjoyed every second of it. when people complain that theres no gameplay this is how all visual novels are like.

Decent game, it's just that a lot of times you WILL get stuck and have to visit the FAQs online. Its hard to know exactly how to get the correct ending even if you think you made all the right choices.
