Replaced a pair of Audioengine A5 - volume control broke. Paired with NAD D 3020 amp, couldn't be more happier. Like other reviews, speakers still sound good at low volume. Music is much or dynamic and

Wharfedale Diamond 220 HCP

We love the Wharfedale Diamond 220s, and we're not shy about saying so. As if giving them an Award wasn't enough, we have previously used language such as ‘best-sounding budget speakers on the market'. So imagine our excitement when we learned we would get to try them in a surround package.

Precise; articulated sound; Well integrated; Taut and controlled punch

Not quite the last word in outright excitement

The Diamond 220 HCP is a 5.1 standmount speaker package and the successor to the brilliant Diamond 100 HCP system launched in 2013. It's based around speakers from Wharfedale's new Diamond 200 series, including the Diamond 220 standmounts at the front and rear, the 220C centre and the SPC-10 powered...

My first set of quality speakers.

Having never had a clue when it came to quality speakers I was advised to get these Wharfdales Speakers as part of a stereo setup paired with an amp. And boy am I glad I followed the advise! I previously bought a soundbar by another manufacturer and I will be honest it sounded awful!

Whats all the fuss about

They sound like really good surround speakers at best. The first thing is the bad engineering the bottom plate is far to tight against the bass port so it struggles with the bass notes. Sent mine back as I was expecting more. Richer sounds service was exceptional as usual and gave full refund.

Wharfedale Diamond 220 Speaker System Review

When a venerable audio brand leaves its founders behind, sometimes it loses its way. But sometimes it gets a whole new lease on life. That's what happened when the International Audio Group (IAG, originally of Taiwan, now of mainland China) acquired a handful of British brands, including Wharfedale,...

Superb sound for price; Bottom port cuts unwanted noise; Dressy cosmetics

Odd binding-post layout

One Piece At A Time

I am in the process of making a small home theater out of an extra bedroom. I have a good stereo in the living room and just wanted something affordable and attractive that sounds good.

They look and sound good; especially for the price

You will probably want a subwoofer with these
