Durable; Fast Connectivity; Quiet; Reliable; Versatile
Awsome disk better life than ssd but pathetic packing by amazon needs improvement they packed it in just card board Disk damaged and wastage of my time in loading windows Rregarding Raptor: Those who have never used it and think ssd is better then this Hard Drive is a surprise with 182 Mbps real...
A few years ago I bought a 74GB Raptor drive and it exceeded my expectations. This one was even better in that it had a higher capacity for storage. I'm still liking this 500GB and will continue to use it.
Very happy with this purchase. boots up windows in 15 sec. 5 yr warranty is impressive as well. I here that these are not as fast as a solid state drive but I didn't pay $400 for it either. Its the best bank for your buck out there.
Love this super fast hard drive. It's a nice complement to the PCIe solid state drive and another SSD drive in my MacPro.
Compact; Easy To Set Up; Easy to use; High Capacity
I use 2 of these in Raid 0 with a fast smaller SDD as Intel Cache and IMO its overall faster in "REAL LIFE USAGE" then simply running the SDD as SSD's are not fast for all types of files types/sizes and compresses vs uncompressed files.
I bought this drive to have some better speed and good storage amount for my media. I did read online that they did have a high chance of failure from other reviews but thought that it was just bad luck or something like that. Now 4 months after non intensive usage, the drive has failed.
I used to use SSDs as the boot device in most of my workstations. After 4+ years of SSDs with a 75% re-install/failure rate, I have switched almost all of my systems to Velociraptors.
Fast; Quiet; One of the best Performance $/GB

I have two of these HDD's, one as a backup and the other as my OS and program HDD. I stopped using a Crucial SSD a few months ago. I needed more storage and didn't want to use the SSD as just a OS drive, so I installed the SSD into my wifes laptop.
