This lasted me only 3 years. The read/write demand I put it through was minimal. One day it just failed, no reason at all.

I bought this exact drive about three years ago. When it worked, it was great. About 6 months ago, it started to fail. I upgraded my notebook to an SSD and contacted Western Digital for an RMA on the defective drive since it had a 5 year warranty.

I am a little bit scared to start transfering my data on that drive since I hear a single loud "click" sound from time to time. The drive seem to perform ok and transfers are good speed but not sure about the clicking sound. I'll see how it does it perform in the next weeks and months...

Works well,but as it is in a laptop with an i5,can't tell its true potential.

I've had the HD for about two weeks, and it is performing great. Got a faster one this time, and am very happy with it. Watched YouTube to see how the install (very easy) and was up and running in about 15 minutes.

Great drive for the price. I always run extensive error and surface test on new hard drives and this one passed with out a hitch. B&H is about the only source I use to buy HDD and SSD's anymore.

Replaced the CD/DVD drive in my older 13-inch MacBook Pro with this drive. Running it alongside a Samsung 840 SSD, which began to slow down after filling up. Moved all the non-essential files over to this drive and everything is running much better now.
