I've had 2 out of 3 of these drives die within 3 months of purchase, in different devices. Both drives had SMART Pending Sector and Uncorrectable Sector counts far in excess of manufacturer thresholds; and eventual read failures. They may be from a bad batch as WD are usually pretty reliable; but I'll be avoiding this particular model in future.

If you have a NAS, then these are the drives you want to be putting in there. Western Digital Red drives are where your money needs to be spent if you want speed and reliability for your data storage.

Fast drive great for my NAS

I got these to go into the Asustor NAS box I got from PB Tech. The 4 disks have been configured as 2 mirrored pairs. Easy to install and I expect they will be very reliable for a long time. Thanks PB Tech for helping me out with all the information I needed and some great sales service on purchase day.
