Inspire confidence

Bought a pair of these to use as a 3TB RAID 1 array for my NAS enclosure. They are fast, quiet, they run cool, and they are good value for money at £89 a piece. Also had nothing but good service from WD drives over the years, so am confident these will be the same.

Excellent performance and storage size

I have three of these hard drives installed in my home server, and they are absolute beasts! I get read and write speeds of over 200MBps over my gigabit network, and even faster when transferring data within the server.

Very nice website and checkout was excellent. Shipping was almost immediate and the drive arrived in great condition. Looking forward to a happy son--in-law Christmas Morning.

Excellent

I got this drive to use as a mass backup / storage using a bare drive adapter. It is fast and quiet. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Solid...so far

I have had Green drives running in a Drobo FS NAS for almost 5 years without any failure. I just got a Synology DS1515+ NAS so figured I'd stick with WD and try out the new fangled Reds in that. I put in 3 and so far so good: no errors, quiet, good performance.
Pros:
  • Price (when on sale -NAS specific -WD name
Cons:
  • -Price (when not on sale -Warranty (5 year is for the "Pro" version
  • not these which have only 3 years

NAS drive

Works well in the Raid5 Drobo it's set-up in. This one is actually a spare on the shelf. Have five others running in the Drobo without any issues.

Good value

Used one before on my home NAS, which runs 24x7. Good balance between capacity, value, investment, future-proofing. Bought a couple of these for a new NAS system built around the WD 'My Cloud EX4100' for my cousin. Easy set up, low noise, reliable product.

Four Stars

So far so wonderful. But this is a long-distance runner so we'll have to wait.
