Because the HD was Package for retail selling there was no damage during shippment (Double boxed); it work on installation. The unit was been running for several months without any trouble.
Purchased 4 disks a year and a half ago for my QNAP TS-412-US and has worked flawlessly. The storage is set up as a RAID 5 configuration, and the theory is I can handle 1 hard drive failure, so I just purchased a spare one as cheap insurance.
I just needed more archive space, and picked up two of these. They perform as expected (and maybe a bit better), but they are only 5400 RPM. They're very quiet. For the price, it's about as good as you'll get.
Quiet Run cool Really good value
Speed (to be expected at 5400 RPM
SCAN exhibits the usual high level of Customer Service, delivery process, price competitivness and P&P. However can't comment on the product yet as it's part of a new build not yet completed.
The WD Red's are a great hard drive, they come with a 3 year warranty and are ideally suited to NAS storage devices. I wish I bought more when they came on offer, but 2 will be ok for now :)
What can I say? I've never gone wrong purchasing a Western Digital hard drive. It installed easily and provided space for my precious files. I'm happy!
-Definitely recommend the Red drives. I have heard mixed reviews about the higher tier RE drives, but these 'NAS' designed drives have a good reputation, and so far, like all the other WD drives I have owned they are working excellently.
-What you would expect from a WD product; solid drive; excellent speeds
-None at this point
Western Digital provides the best industry leading Hard Drives available on the Market. Easy to use for our NAS system, and never a doubt as to whether the drive will fail. Installed this in my NAS system, and now have 2 TB of data to ease my comfort.
WD 2TB (WD20EZRZ) This drive is 5400 RPM drive. So don't expect extreme speeds. It's good for basic computing (Not ideal for games, media editing, audio recording etc.). It is always recommended to install Windows 10 on a 7200 RPM HDD.
