Great for a large RAID

I have 4 of these configured in a RAID 5. Going on a month and they are plugging away just as expected. The green series from WD definitely saves on power which is great in terms of heat and money.

I purchased two of these on sale for around $160 each. Good ratio price/GB. Plenty of storage space. Not suitable for Video encoding jobs since it's slow, but it's good for anything else.

Good quality; Good ratio price/GB

A bit noisy; Slow

Works well

Works as advertised. I chose the WD green because of higher reliability. Warranty is 2 years. I use as an external backup HDD for my MacBook Air connected via a USB dual docking station by Startech.

Will buy again

Great drive to store applications

This drive stores and loads all of my applications and games. I see a lot of people talk about game load times on SSD's, but the performance of this drive is such that I've never thought about putting all my games on a SSD to squeeze out a half second faster load times.

WD® 4TB 3 1/2" Desktop Internal Hard Dri

This drive has lots of storage and so far has worked flawlessly. Since it is only a 5400 rpm drive it would be quite slow a a main hard drive but is awesome for mass storage. I hope to purchase one more to help with backups.

Massive Storage Low Price

For the cost of this drive, having that much space available for use is a plus. Because of the nature of the drive, some might be intimidated with it, unless they have a geek friend. In this I mean, the drive comes unformatted, and un-partitioned.

Excellent budget drive.

Pros: An excellent drive to use in a NAS, as a secondary storage unit or as a backup unit due to its large storage capacity and energy saving features. It is very quiet and energy efficient. This is also a budget friendly hard drive.

Reliable drive for everyday tasks. Quiet and runs cool.

Have 4 of these 4GB drives in a NAS box for storing BD Movies. They have been 100% reliable over many months. The temp's are good and have never gone over 40C in heavy loading. Idle in the 20's.
