Great drive but you may need some techie skills to get it to be seen on an older motherboard. Im not a techie, so I cant really explain like they would. I bought the drive (didn't know I needed to reaserch it!). delivered quick. Put it in my dell optiplex 960 computer, it didnt see it.

Product works great! I Received it very quickly, easy to install and lots of storage space for my files.

One of my drives died some time ago and I was looking for a high capacity/cheap replacement. It has been about 2 months since I got this. So far no problems. It is much more faster than the other drives, so they limit always the transmission of files.

Excellent SATA HDD

Rezing it to 2TB and 1TB using my licensed copy of EASEUS Partition Master did not help. Disappointed but it was a good try. I'll try another model 3TB from WD or from another OEM.

Under $90 for a 3TB is a great buy; WD HDD reputation; Systems recognized it and did the usual initializating, formatting, etc

I consider this HDD from WD a DOA for me; Windows just would not format this HDD; I tried formatting it as a GPT and MBR, both failed; Since I planned on having this HDD as an internal 2nd drive and not a boot drive I thought the process would be a breeze.

Overall a good drive, the only reason if lost a star was because I needed to adjust wdidle3 to prevent it from failing prematurely.

I have purchased two of these in the last month, to use in a PC which will be used simply as a media hub in a living room. There is no fancy setup involved, I was going to mirror them, but they are simply run as two individual drives. The performance is very good, they run cool and extremely quiet.

I've been buying WD drives for the past 10 years and only had one drive failure. This is a company you can trust for the best drives for home use. I highly recommend WD. This WD Green 3TB drive is no exception. Very good drive for the money.
