Well where to start.. I've own WD Reds & Blues for years. Only hard drive failures were in the first few days or dropped being careless while transferring to another computer. I'd set up a multi media computer last year with mostly used parts but wanted to finalize the set up with a new SSD WD-Blue...
After 5 months of infrequent use the drive failed and shown as unallocated! Had to restore the using a recovery software. Completely unacceptable!
Great value for money and a wonderful high quality HDD.
Western Digital, you will never go wrong with WD drives. Installed it, formatted it, started using it without any trouble at all. It's meant for data storage and that is exactly what it is doing. If you want performance look at WD Black drives but this drive is excellent for its intended use.
First class hard drive.....
Good brand. Purchased this as a second disk for storing data.
Good brand
None so far
Very good product. I connected it myself. Window 10 reformatted it on its own. Working fine. WD has home warranty which is another advantage.
- The first drive failed within 3 hours with a SMART error. Transfer speeds went from 120-150 MBPS to 2.7-3.1. Filed for an RMA and the replacement was approved the same day. - Overall a great drive for storing files. I keep my music and movies on this drive which is a backup for my primary drive
Storage capacity - Buffer size - Performance
- First drive was a pretty much a DOA; Newegg took care of the RMA without any problems and replacement was shipped immediately
Expected more from WD. Wont be buying again.
Worked great and was fast
Failed after 4 days
