Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War 2: Retribution Review

Last time we checked in with Aurelia, the Space Marines were fighting the forces of Chaos (in the first Dawn of War II expansion, Chaos Rising), and in the process sort of saving the day - or not.

Six-playable races; Introduction of some more RTS-y elements; Expanded multiplayer

More of a side-step than pushing the series forward; Campaign story a lot less focused; Possibly even gibberish to non 40K fans

Dawn of War II: Retribution Review

Through a combination of great storytelling, a user-friendly interface and gameplay so fun that it'll keep players entertained for hours on end, Dawn of War II – Retribution offers both new fans and veteran players with a compelling reason to delve into the action.

A worthy final chapter

It is a shame THQ went down. But thankfully they were able to give us some truly epic titles in their final years (Space Marine, DoW II Retribution, CoH 2, Metro 2033 etc.). Here are the reasons why you - if you own Dow II and/or Chaos Rising - should buy this game: CAMPAIGN: I've heard everyone...

Mint Imperials

CEO: No, I said an add-on pack. Nothing huge, you know, just a couple of re-skins, maybe the odd new map...

Great feel to it; Upgrades all balanced; Way more stuff than DoW2

SP maps are linear

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution Review

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution is the second stand-alone expansion to Dawn of War II , a real-time strategy/tactical role-playing game set in the Warhammer: 40,000 universe.

Orks; Tyranids; Chaos; and Eldar finally playable in a campaign; More diverse gameplay than its predecessors; The Imperial Guard faction is a great addition

Some factions' stories are poorly fleshed out; Bugs mar the Imperial Guard campaign

Warhammer 40:000: Dawn of War II: Retribution

Retribution is a solid stand alone expansion that I would have no problem paying $50 for... and it retails for $30.

Dawn of War II - Retribution

2010 was a good year for strategy games thanks to a number of fantastic releases including Relic Entertainment's first expansion to Dawn of War II, entitled Chaos Rising. A full year later, we are graced with yet another stand-alone expansion, this time it's all about Retribution.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution

With six playable races and campaigns, considerable additions to the gameplay, and a few multiplayer improvements, Dawn of War II: Retribution offers far more than you'd expect from a standalone expansion.

Another great addition to Dawn of War

This game is perfect for any type of gamer so long as you enjoy a good RTS. I know the other reviewer says it isnt stand along, and i guarantee you that if Relic and THQ say it is then it is. There will always be initial bugs to work out but then that is true of all games.
