The Attitude Era Mode is the greatest feature in WWE '13; The mode revisits the best period of professional wrestling history, when the WWE threw aside superheroes and goofy gimmicks for grittier, more real characters in the late '90s.

While the Attitude Era mode shines a bright spotlight on wrestling's past, the modern product gets stuck in the shadows with the WWE Universe mode; It's essentially fantasy wrestling; You import your custom wrestlers, belts, and arenas into a full WWE season.

A perfect wrestling match is a fallacy - no matter the talent, you'll question reality at some point - but that won't keep a fight from becoming classic. Likewise, WWE '13 proves you can still put on an imperfect yet excellent match.

Ditching the SmackDown vs. Raw title, last year's WWE '12 gave the wrestling series a major overhaul with a fresh look, a new engine, and streamlined controls. While the much-needed reboot may have revitalized faith in the franchise, it still had some lingering problems that held it back from true...

After playing WWE '13 at an event in New York last month, I came away thinking that this entry might be the most accessible one yet, as few people in their 20s or older can forget the "Attitude Era" that the WWE went through in the late 90s - or the characters it created, like The Rock, Steve...

I will openly admit that I had lost a lot of love for the WWE video game franchise in recent years and wondered whether the latest in the series " WWE 13 " could rekindle any enjoyment I had with the games throughout their history.

WWE 13 is a very enjoyable game with a fantastic story mode that everyone should try out. The gameplay has been made smoother with easier reversals and some slight additions that give it more depth.

Last year's revamp and rebrand of THQ and Yuke's wrestling games was a sensible decision, as the series formally titled  WWE Smackdown and then WWE Smackdown vs. Raw had long been due an overhaul of its primary mechanics and underlying engine.

adds onto an already solid foundation, and puts the attitude back in wrestling games, both literally and figureatively. While the game still has some flaws which will remind you it's still got a bit to go before it's an all-timer.

After all of the hype and promoting THQ has been doing for WWE '13 , fans may have been expecting a bit of a letdown. WWE '12 was easily one of the best wrestling games of all-time and hands-down the best current generation WWE game, but many wondered how Yuke's would do in there follow-up title.
