We’re starting to see more true wireless earphones tackle ANC (active noise cancellation), and some, like the Urbanista London, are doing so for far less money than usual. It makes sense for in-ear models to deliver ANC—the sealing off of the ear canal already takes care of a wide swath of ambient noise, leaving less for the noise-cancelling circuitry to handle. But the London earbuds cost just $149, which is $100 less than the Apple Airpods Pro. Are the savings worth it? In terms of audio performance, the in-ears deliver a bass-forward sound signature that would benefit from more definition in the highs. As for the ANC, it’s solid for the price, though it does tend to alter the sound signature slightly when enabled. Design Available in black, blue, rose, or white models, the London earpieces feature touch-sensitive controls on a stem, like the AirPods Pro.
