Ultimate Ears ROLL 2 - Atmosphere Blue

- Great Sound - Awesome Battery Life - Rugged and durable - Small form factor I take this thing hiking, fishing to the beach.; everywhere! I have no fear of it getting dirty or broken; I left my UE Roll 1 on a plane and I bought this as a replacement within days because I can't live without it

Ultimate Ears UE Roll 2 Review

You can only get so much power out of a small Bluetooth speaker. Ultimate Ears seems to have hit this wall with the UE Roll 2. The small, rugged follow-up to the UE Roll has longer wireless range than the original, but doesn't offer any significant audio improvements over its predecessor, and struggles with deep bass when you crank it up. But it still boasts a clever design, and sounds very good when you don't push it to maximum volume. It's a solid option at $99.99, though our Editors' Choice, the JBL Clip 2, can be found for about half as much. DesignThe Roll 2 looks and behaves identically to the original. It's a 5.3-inch disc that measures 1.6 inches at its thickest point, with front and back sides that curve toward each other to form a single circular edge. It weighs 11.6 ounces and is rated IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can handle total submersion in 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. While the Roll 2 can survive being dunked, you can't easily listen to it underwater. Fo...

The Ultimate Ears UE Roll 2 is a smartly designed waterproof speaker that offers very good sound quality as long as you don't crank the volume too high.

Waterproof; Built-in bungee cord; Crisp, clear sound

UE Roll Review: One Fun Waterproof Speaker

The perfect Bluetooth speaker would have great sound and a ton of features at a cheap price. The Ultimate Ears Roll comes as close as any to meeting all three criteria. It delivers full sound in a very portable, waterproof form, all for $100.

Full treble and midrange; Waterproof; Loud for an inexpensive speaker

No speakerphone; Can't control music from speaker

A Little Boom for the House!

Overall I love my EU Roll Bluetooth Speaker. I should mention that I received the product for free to use for this review! Definitely a win for someone like me who listens to music whenever and wherever possible.

UE Roll 2

The UE Roll 2 is an wireless speaker that rejects the usual design format of such a device. Rather than being shaped like a brick, it's a Bluetooth discus: round, but fairly slim. It's waterproof, very loud, and at £80 isn't ridiculously expensive.

Loud; Rugged; Water resistant

Lacks bass depth; No mic or NFC

UE Roll 2 review

Some may call it a gimmick, but waterproof speakers are here to stay. It might've been a passing fad when the first few manufacturers, like Ultimate Ears (UE, for short) and JBL, first started releasing these water-tolerant audio devices a few years back, but now they're a staple of the market.
