Great piece of hardware and it's definitely not your usual plug n play device, so took a bit of work to get it setup. Now that it's configured it works really well for my needs. I have since purchased additional Ubiquiti switches and AP's. Trick for new players is that if you have 1gig Fibre internet you won't get faster than 300Mbps download speed......unless you you enable Hardware Offloading. The Ubiquiti forums are amazing for config, rules and fine tuning help.

This is a powerful little router for the price. Very customizable with loads of included features. The setup isnt very plug and play friendly, and if you want to get the best out if it you should have some prior networking experience. This router will route at 1gbps but only after you enable hardware offloading. With offloading disabled you are capped at 400mpbs.

As per the title - I installed this at home and configured it appropriately and was instantly blown away. Although it's probably not fair to sight the improvements having come from a Huawei HG600 series router supplied by Voda-useless - but nevertheless, the results speak for themselves. I am already familiar with Ubiquiti products - UAP wireless access points and other Ubiquiti gear. These are NOT consumer products - they are intended for IT-literate prosumers. I'm a recent convert to the ER-X - it's a great little 5-port router. (previously I was using a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite). Don't let its tiny size, low price, and no-frills looks fool you - the ER-X is not a toy. Routing performance is excellent. It will handle a 200Mbps internet connection with ease. Great piece of tech - allowed me to set up as a router in my Hubble cabinet (in our garage) where space was tiny and I have 19 data ports via a NetGear 24 port switch (unmanaged) in my new home. Once set up UE-X (with Contact Broadband Fibre via Ultrafast fibre modem) I was able to utilise a data point elsewhere in our new home to use their standard Contact Broadband NetComm 18 ACV router but in BRIDGE mode.
