Transformers: Devastation Review

Platinum Games' take on Transformers is an interesting and welcome change of pace for the property. The developer's brand of polished, fast-paced, flowing combat feels right at home in the Transformers universe.

Transformers: Devastation – Review

Ignoring the fact that Platinum Games' staff probably resorted to sleeping in the office and putting in some serious overtime, Transformers: Devastation is proof of what a studio can achieve while on a tight schedule and what was likely to be a small budget too.

Transformers Devastation: review

Transformers are awesome. There's no point trying to argue; it's an objective fact . Platinum Games are also awesome, having developed games such as The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 1 & 2, and Vanquish. In related news, chocolate spread is awesome and cheeseburgers are awesome.

Look, let's not waste time here. I'm going to get right to the point and say that I love Transformers: Devastation . Absolutely love it. No bones about it, I think it's an awesome game. Why am I so nuts about it? Well, let me set the stage.

Realizing it really looks as good as it does in trailers

Transformers: Devastation (Xbox One) Review

If you're a fan of the original Generation One Transformers, then this is kind of one not to be missed. All others may want to try and check it out first though, as Transformers: Devastation is definitely a slow-starter.

Nostalgia at it's finest

I'm a huge G1 Transformers fan and this is the best G1 game I've played. It's a great, but short, Transformers game as well. Simple to play, the voice work is spot on for the characters from the show and it really does feel like I'm in an episode.

Transformers: Devastation doesn't waste any time in putting you right in the middle of autobot action. In less than 20 minutes, you're already going head to head with some of the largest Transformers that the game has to offer and taking part in epic boss battles that actually work extremely well in...

Prime Time

If your memories of a Saturday morning were running downstairs and flicking the telly on to bathe your sleepy eyes in the pulsating glow, flashy lights, and booming explosions of the original Transformers, boy could Devastation be the game for you.

True to the TV show; Great spectacle in boss fights; Slick; enjoyable combat

Short campaign; Over priced

Transformers Devastation

A short, but very fun game that feels faithful to the G1 Transformers from the 80s!
