Transcend SSD720 256GB SSD Review

Just another drive with the older rev of LSI SandForce 2281 controller with no up-to-date firmware support unlike its counterparts with exaggerated Read/Write Claims. A very heavy 7mm thick drive.

Transcend SSD320 & SSD720 (256GB) Review

Transcend is a Taiwanese company specializing in memory and flash storage solutions. While Transcend may not be the first company that comes to mind about NAND flash, it has been in the industry since the late 80's.

Silicon Power Velox V60 120 GB and Transcend SSD720 128 GB SSD Review

We have already tested SSDs with second-generation SandForce controllers and 24nm Toggle Mode flash memory before and today's testing of Silicon Power Velox V60 and Transcend SSD720 drives didn't produce any surprises since they have the same hardware platform.

Transcend goes for gold with its new flagship SSD720 product that brings LSI SandForce performance to a new higher capacity point. The new 7mm package coupled with 24nm flash and working TRIM makes this the best RAISE free SandForce offering yet.

SSD Upgrade

My Notebook that I purchased in 2010 had a failing HDD and I was looking at both the Sandisk 480GB and the Transcend 512GB SSD's to replace the HDD that was in my Notebook. The HDD was the only issue with it and it still performs very well.

Easy To Install; Fast; Highly Compatible; Quiet; Reliable

Does what I need. Nothing more :)

This SSD has very good read/write specs, and has improved my home pc greatly. It was easy to install, mostly because I had some extra zip ties lying around, but partly because it comes with tiny screws that fit the mounting holes.

Transcend SSD720 128GB Review (7.0mm)

Kitguru says: A really balanced, capable all round Solid State Drive.

Fast; strong incompressible read performance; 3 year warranty; well priced; 7mm; built for space restrictive Ultrabooks

Better drives if incompressible data performance is a primary requirement

Very Nice!

I have been assembling my own PCs for 15 years, and this stands head and shoulders above any other upgrade I have made with respect to performance. Installed this with a motherboard, FX processor and memory upgrade along with Windows 8. It was easy to mount and simple (for me) to configure.

Very easy upgrade, user-friendly software, good capacity-price-performance; Oh..; as usual NewEgg rocks!!

None so far; Worried about reliability since this tech is new to me, so was careful about imaging my installation on an external SATA drive and I always back up my volatile data; Not even a hiccup so far, just being cautious

Transcend SSD720 128GB review

There's no doubt that 2011 was the year that SSDs hit the mainstream, and 2012 is certainly going to cement their place. There seems to be no end to the number of manufacturers producing new ranges of drives.
