Transcend SSD370 128GB Review

Today we have the Transcend SSD370 in a 128GB capacity for a closer look. That's not a terribly flashy name for a drive, but we care less about the marketing and more bang for our buck. How about $70 for this SSD, including a rather impressive accessory package?

Very affordable; Solid accessory package with cloning software; Very fast Read speeds; Well suited for OS drive

Sequential Write speeds only satisfactory; Performance increases as capacity increases

Things were going pretty well in developing our final opinion of the Transcend SSD370 256GB SSD until it returned the absolute highest score ever for a notebook factor SSD. This surprised us so much that we actually ran the test several times, and then again after the drive had been in use for a few...

Transcend SSD370 128GB SATA 6Gb/s SSD Review

The Transcend SSD370 128GB drive is affordable with respectable performance and supports things like TRIM & DevSleep. To help sweeten the deal it also comes with cloning software and even has a 3.5″ desktop drive bay adapter.

Transcend SSD370 256GB SSD Review

It seems like no matter what you are purchasing there are always many various levels of quality, prices, and performance. I know I personally get stuck desiring the top of the line everything and my spouse gets a little upset about this since we end up spending extra money at times.

Good Mixed File Performance; No Loss In Performance With Incompressible Data; Desktop Mounting Kit Included; Minimal Performance Drop Off as Drive Fills; Transcend Toolbox Software; Good Performance at Higher Queue Depths; Real World Performance is Excellent; 7mm Form Factor; 3-year warranty

Warranty and Endurance Lower Than Some Competitors; Performance Slightly Lower Than SSDs In Same Price Range

Apparently is better than the MX100 and Ultra II in terms of real-world performance; recommended by Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8792/transcend-ssd370-128gb-256gb-512gb-review/

Transcend SSD370 (128GB, 256GB & 512GB) Review

From the performance perspective, the SSD370 is a very competitive value drive. It doesn't top the charts, but it provides a very good balance of consistency and peak performance.

Easy to install

It works as it was described! Easy to install, just need to find the right screw to hold the card in place. Gave new life to my older laptop.

Transcend SSD370 512 Gb SSD Review

What was once ultra-expensive and rare quickly becomes cheap and common in the personal computer market. Storage is possibly the best example of this. Indeed, the storage market has changed quite a bit in the 17 years I have been a computer enthusiast.

Transcend's SSD370S 512GB SATA III SSD is a decent performing drive with a nice bundle. Overall the drive delivers a good SSD experience, but it's currently overpriced for the performance it offers.
