Grasping for any remaining strands of nostalgia surrounding Tony Hawk's Pro Skater , which remains an outlandish and masterfully designed skateboarding experience, Robomodo's Activision-mandated update paradoxically misses the point entirely.

It has at times felt like Pro Skater 5 was doomed from the start, with the usual gallery of internet naysayers collectively shaking their heads and tutting loudly whenever new footage or snippets of information were released to the public.

looks, runs, and plays like a pre-alpha build of a game that might have been ready to release sometime in the spring or summer of 2016. Its framerate is choppier than most extreme sports titles on the PlayStation 2.

We had been hoping for the best, our fingers crossed until the very last moment. Our nostalgic memories of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 are still wonderfully warm and cozy. We recall pulling off advanced tricks, grinding to our favourite songs, cruising great levels looking for new spots to ride.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5's rare moments of nostalgic joy are drowned out by its abundance of poorly thought out levels, control problems, bugs, and its glaring lack of attitude. It boggles the mind that a $60 game in 2015 can be riddled with so many technical issues.

Bought this game hoping it would be like the older versions but it wasn't. I was hoping for some of the nostalgia of the original. Overall the game is OK, mildly entertaining. Nothing special. Would recommend if you have no other games to play and can pick this up on the cheap.

Unfortunately it's just not worth exploring all of the systems, attributes and abilities because the major flaw of Armello is that these interesting systems don't come into play often enough.
