Forget about past Tomb Raider- this is the **best** Lara yet! Far more realistic, great work done by Ms.Ludington and the Crystal Dynamics team. Learned about history aswell.

Welcome back, Lara; the survivalist hero we always wanted you to be. Tomb Raider is a resounding success and one of the best reboots this generation. It starts off slow, but once it hits its stride, Tomb Raider evolves into an emotionally rich adrenaline-fuelled quest for survival.
+ Great origins story; + Lara is a strong protagonist; + Engaging combat; + Plenty of tombs to raid
- Supporting characters are bland; - Slow start with too many quicktime events; - Enemies are way too good at tossing dynamite behind cover
In 1998, my mother and I went to Cash Converters to look for PlayStation games my father might like for his birthday. She was ultimately convinced by a man with a disturbing glint in his eye that my Dad would appreciate the platformer stylings of the original Tomb Raider.
Whenever a beloved gaming franchise gets the reboot treatment, it's always a tentative time for the diehard fans. Sometimes the payoff is entirely worth it; you only need to look at great games like Fallout 3, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow to know that putting a modern spin on...
If there was ever a heroine in desperate need of a reboot it would have to be Lara Croft. The once quintessential female adventurer has found herself on a precipice by way of her last few incarnations and their failure to capture a significant audience.
So many hours of excellent game play one of the best games ive played for awhile and easily in my top 3 action adventure games of all that ive played, highly recommended for anyone who enjoys an all round quality action/ adventure game
Firstly i would say this game is truely a different class in which i got litrally engrossed for hours till i found my eyes hurting. Yes, its story line, progress and all in all action sequence + camera angle is truely praiseworthy.
When adventurer extraordinaire Lara Croft raided her first tomb back in 1996, she brought with her an exhilarating feeling of isolation and discovery. Over the years, Lara has continued to venture into parts unknown, taking dark turns and frequently tangling with the supernatural as the series...
Story believably builds Lara up from unsure academic to confident adventurer; Fascinating setting with a rich sense of history; Intense combat that offers a good deal of flexibility; Controls make physically overcoming the island's terrain a pleasure; Good assortment of tombs to raid; relics to...
Forgettable multiplayer component; Outside of Lara's character arc; story is predictable
I live in a household where the original Tomb Raider games are the benchmark that all other games are scored against. Much like I would compare any platform game to Super Mario Bros.
I want to start off by saying that I never really played many of the old Tomb Raider games. The whole action/adventure genre was never really my style before the last few years. After finally getting around to the Assassin's Creed franchise I discovered a new niche that I could explore.
