Tomb Raider remains a very good game. It was one when it was released early last year, and with some next-gen polish it's now an even better experience. If that's all you needed to hear before rushing off to buy it, then do so with our blessing. For those that need more, onward we continue.

Tomb Raider is a truly excellent adventure, but it's hard to recommend Definitive Edition if you've experienced it before.

Unless you've been living under a rock you've likely played, or at least heard of, the Tomb Raider reboot that was released to consoles back in March of 2013. A franchise that was at great risk of drowning in mediocrity and fading away was given one more chance to come up for air and start fresh.

Last year's Tomb Raider reboot was an outstanding game. It took a few cues from Uncharted to help modernize the franchise, which was fitting since Uncharted took more than a few from the original Tomb Raider series as well.

, and rebuilds it for the Xbox One. Add in all the DLC released for the game, a digital Dark Horse comic, and The Final Hours Developer videos, and you have Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.
