Titanfall 2 is sandwiched between the launch of Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare , and comes from Respawn Entertainment, a new software house founded by Jason West and Vince Zampella after their exit from Infinity Ward and Activision back in 2010.

The original Titanfall was a great concept in search of a game. It was a shooter with all the chaos and polish of a modern military FPS, but unshackled from any semblance of reality given the presence of giant mech-style Titans.

Titanfall 2 is one of the year's biggest surprises and is a must-buy for any serious shooter fan.

The original Titanfall was a superb game that mixed mechs and FPS to make a truly competitive experience. Sadly, it was only an Xbox One exclusive so those who get the sequel on PS4 will do so having missed out on the first…unless they later plan on re-releasing it for the console.

I actually bought this for sigle player thinking I'd trade it in after but the multiplayer is as good or better than the new Call Of Duty game.

Titanfall was an amazing game that had so much going for it as a multiplayer shooter, but that's all it was. The game sadly lacked a single player campaign, and many of us could see the potential for such a mode in a future game in the series.

It isn't supposed to be like this. Multiplayer-focused shooters are supposed to be one-trick ponies, yet here we have Titanfall 2. As a multiplayer game, it improves on what was already a pretty singular experience.

Microsoft appeared to have an ace in the hole with exclusive rights to Titanfall for the Xbox One. The game was supposed to be the next step for the shooter genre; it had all of the potential in the world.

Let me start by saying, I ignored TitanFall 2's release because the first ones lack of a campaign and lukewarm reception overall. After, some time and hearing the positive word of mouth about the sequel to TitanFall (that many, if not all of my concerns from the first game, were addressed).

What a year we've had for shooters. Doom, Battlefield 1, Overwatch, Homefront, and then there's this, arguably the best all round game of the lot, Titanfall 2. A magnificent shooter package that should be in high consideration for Game of the Year 2016.
